support the College creative team, this dedicated company launched into rehearsals amid House Plays, sport practices, The Court Theatre rehearsals, and daily school life. “I’ve lived the life I wanted to live with you, without you…” – Dracula Finally, the day arrived, and the company performed its highly anticipated debut show to friends and family in Rangi Ruru’s Merivale Lane Theatre, taking a bow to
rapturous applause and a cascade of positive feedback from the esteemed judge, David Chambers. The team walked away with two ‘Magic Moment’ awards – one for the song Ways to Kill a Witch and the other for the dramatic moment where ‘Nos Feratu pulls the strings’. After garnering interest from various creatives in Christchurch, plans for the extended two-act version of The Fall of Dracula are under way.
Our thanks to Matt Flint who stepped in at the last minute to learn and run the complicated technical aspects of the performance and the lighting, and to everyone else who helped along the way. Nikki Bleyendaal Assistant Director of Drama
