MiC: Olivia Austin Managers: Keri Campbell, Elaine Tang Coach: Lili-Fox Mason We have been delighted to welcome Lili-Fox Mason as the coach for our boys’ season, focusing on endurance, strength, and speed training. Much of the swimming training is dedicated to refining stroke technique. This includes drills focusing on body position, arm movement, kick technique, and breathing. Lili-Fox provides feedback and corrections to help swimmers improve their form. The boys enjoy working on their speed through drills and sets designed to increase their pace over shorter distances. There are often competitions for the boys to beat their personal bests and it is gratifying to witness their achievements throughout the term. With a diverse range of swimming abilities among our students, we have tailored specific swimming plans to accommodate both advanced and basic levels of training. Our pool facilities are perfectly suited to our requirements, drawing boys from all year levels together for training sessions. Many boys participate in training as part of their Duke of Edinburgh programme, showcasing their dedication to sports and personal improvement. In Term 1, our school is always abuzz with House Swimming Sports, and competitions held beyond the school gates. Congratulations to Julius House for emerging as the champion of the 2024 Swimming Sports. It is heartwarming to witness the passion and unwavering dedication of the boys who participate in both racing and supporting their peers during these events.

CANTERBURY SCHOOLS SUCCESS In addition to their success at the NZ Secondary Schools Championships, the swimmers excelled at the Canterbury Schools Championships, setting records and dominating relay events.
