more difficult due to the growing competitiveness of other Houses. In Term 2, we shifted focus to House Music, starting with full House practices. Building momentum was a challenge at first, especially with song selection issues, but we made great strides. Our vocal and instrumental small groups delivered strong performances, with the instrumental group reaching the final four and performing ABBA’s Dancing Queen . Our House choir, conducted by Thomas Wright, gave a wonderful rendition of One Direction’s Steal My Girl . Although we didn’t secure a win, the quality of our preparation and performances was undeniable. Shortly after House Music, we pivoted to House Plays, which were brilliantly led by Xander De Luca, Josh Ratulomai, James Whitaker, and Cole Moffatt. We performed the one- act play Us and Them , with Tate Aikawa earning Best Actor for his exceptional performance. The period between House Plays and our next major event felt a bit quiet, but by Term 3, we were back in action, preparing for the House

next year under the leadership of Ben Campbell as Head of House, with Tomas Coberger as Deputy Head of House, and the rest of the 2025 Year 13 boys. It’s also worth noting that Corfe will have the largest number of Prefects in 2025, a testament to the talent and dedication within our House. To my Year 13 peers, thank you for your unwavering support and the friendships we’ve built. You’ve given me some of the best years of my life, and I hope we stay connected as we move into the future. To the rest of Corfe, cherish your time here. Embrace both the successes and the challenges – whether it’s a grade, a sports team, or a production role. Growth often comes from moments of discomfort, so push through and give everything your best effort. Before coming to College, I struggled in an education system that didn’t suit me, leading to stress and self- doubt. Moving here gave me the opportunity to start fresh, build confidence, and find my passions. Next year, I’ll be heading to Dunedin to study Health Sciences First Year – not for the parties or couch burnings, but to pursue a career in healthcare, a path I’m genuinely passionate about. If any of you ever find yourselves in a similar situation, remember, believe in yourself. A quote from The Bee Movie sums it up perfectly: “According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway.” Like the bee, don’t let anyone tell you what you can’t achieve – flap your wings and you just might fly. For the last time, Rem Bene . HOUSE COLOURS This year, we reintroduced House Colours, with points awarded for participation in various House activities, service, character awards, and overall House support. Boys could opt in by recording and submitting their accumulated points, which carry over each year.

boys were recognised this year, showcasing their excellence. Congratulations to all recipients, including those who received multiple awards. REM BENE AWARDS This year, we introduced Rem Bene Awards, linked to the Corfe House tile displayed in the stairwell. These awards recognise individuals who have contributed to the House or wider community, whether through helping others, performing in assemblies, or excelling at national or international levels. Staff and students nominate recipients, and 80 awards were issued this year.

haka. We aimed to master the basics and were led strongly by Xander and Josh. Our efforts paid off as we placed 2nd, just behind Julius. Our final big event of the year, the House cross-country, was held in the last week of Term 3. Corfe delivered inspiring results, with Ben Campbell taking the top spot in the U16 race.

None of these achievements would have been possible without a dedicated team of Year 13 leaders. I was fortunate to work alongside an incredible group of boys who embodied House spirit and leadership, supporting Mr Wood and me every step of the way. I am confident this legacy will continue
