Day 7: New Orleans This morning, enjoy a walking tour of this city of French heritage on a walking tour with your expert local guide. Day 8: New Orleans Enjoy a free day to relax in the ‘Big Easy’ and explore further afield. Day 9: New Orleans - Houston Today, head westwards towards Texas, The Lone Star State. Your first stop is at NASA’s world-famous Johnson Space Centre. Day 10: Houston - San Antonio Continue further into the south Texas plans, arriving in San Antonio. See the remains of Alamo on a visit. Day 11: San Antonio Enjoy a day at leisure exploring the city of San Antonio. Day 12: San Antonio - Dallas Travel north to Dallas. Visit the infamous Dealey Plaza, where President John F Kennedy was assassinated. Day 13: Dallas - Amarillo Today, drive from Dallas to Amarillo, stopping at Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Day 14: Amarillo - Albuquerque On your way out of Amarillo, stop at Cadillac Ranch, a unique public art installation, on your way to Albuquerque. Day 15: Albuquerque - Williamso From Albuquerque, travel to Williams passing towns like Gallup and stopping at the Petrified National Forest. Day 16: Williams - Grand Canyon Today, your road trip takes you off Route 66 and up to the Grand Canyon National Park, stopping at some of the best viewing points. Days 17-18: Grand Canyon - Las Vegas - UK While not much of the original Route 66 remains, drive along a section of the original Route 66 on your way to the airport this morning as you drive to Las Vegas for your overnight flight home.
