an existing space into a re- tail wine store at 425 11th Street NW, Washington, DC. The new interior build out included demolition, new partitions, installation of a new finish floor and ceil- ing, new light and display fixtures, a cash wrap, paint- ing, and more. The Local Vine Cellar of- fers the finest hand crafted beer, wine, and spirits to its customers while avoiding mass produced brands. Ev- erything in the store’s port- folio represents a region or conveys regional style and tradition. With its spacious

open concept The Local Vine Cellar prides itself on a per- sonable approach in which they welcome customers to stay and engage in conver- sation in order to determine which wine, beer, or spirit would be best for them. In an effort to further educate their customers, the store offers free weekly tastings, classes, and other events at which custom- ers can learn more about their favorite wine, beer, or spirit. Encore Construction was the general contractor for

estate firm that has pro- vided the highest level of quality, service, and value to its clients and investors for more than 50 years. The company has a presence in more than 100 cities around the globe and investor rela- tionships with many of the world’s largest financial institutions. The Local Vine Cellar was a unique project for a few reasons. First, David Shott was a great client to work with and the entire project What made this project unique?

was teamwork oriented. Second, the open design of the store and the colors used in the build out bring a dynamic aesthetic to the space. Third, we appreci- ate The Vine Cellar’s effort to provide and educate the DC community with hand- crafted wines, beers, and spirits created by individual artisans. Lastly, with the project being located in the Penn Quarter neighborhood, this was an excellent oppor- tunity for Encore to show- case our quality of work to the DC community. n
