Q . Walla Walla, Wash. — “Was there an actual garden of Eden? Is Job only a story or drama?" A. Yes, absolutely there was a garden of Eden. It says so in the Word of God. We are given that exact informa tion. Now just what its exact boun daries were we do not know. While Job is one of the greatest dramas ever to be recorded, we hasten to add that it is most certainly a true story of events which actually took place. As proof, our Lord Himself refers to Job as a real person. We believe the events took place just exactly as they are recorded in the Scriptures. Q . In some of these instances, the definite article occurs which means that it is not just a general statement or period of time, but something very specific. The prophets of the Old Tes tament speak of that glorious time coming upon the earth. (Space doesn’t allow the full discussion of these, i.e., “the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea,” Heb. 2:14; “the wolf and the lamb shall feed to gether,” Isa. 65:25.) This has not yet taken place, but will when Christ actually reigns on the earth during the millennium. This is not any allegorical or hypothetical situation; it is a spe cific, definite period of time. Q . Camarillo, Calif. — “Please explain Matthew 20:16 which states, ‘So the
