should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Q . Salem, Ore. — “In Rev. 22:12 we read, ‘And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is toith me, to give every man according as his work shall, be.’ What is this reward?” A. The Lord is primarily speaking to His own. There is a sense in which He will reward the godly of other genera tions as well as the Church. Their specific promise, however, is directed to believers since Christ’s death on the cross. This comes under the heading of crowns in the New Testament. The Lord is going to have some marvelous “surprises” for us, over and above what He has told us about in His Word, and certainly beyond our very fallible and inadequate ability to com prehend. GOD'S PROVISIONS John D. Rockefeller one day gave his personal check for $100 to a minister, in appreciation for the preacher’s tire less efforts. The pastor was deeply grate ful and went down to the bank Mon day morning to get it cashed. The teller, however, had a wry sense of humor. He handed the check back to the minister, explaining , “I’m sorry, sir, we can’t honor this.’’ You can imagine the preach er’s shock. Although visibly shaken he asked, “What’s wrong? Isn’t this the right bank? Don’t tell me that isn’t John D. Rockefeller’s signature. Surely he must have more than $100 in his ac count.” The clerk smiled kindly and re plied, “I’m sorry, sir, I should have ex plained more fully. Yes, this is the right bank, and there’s no question about Mr. Rockefeller’s unlimited funds. You see, the oversight is on your part. Since it’s made out to you, you will have to en dorse it!” The minister breathed a sigh of relief. The illustration has been used frequently to point out how Christians have been given all the promises of God, written out in their names. We can have these provisions honored in our lives, only by taking the time to endorse them, making God’s Word to be a vital part of our daily existence. * * * The only exercise some people get is In throwing bouquets at themselves.

part with the Metropolitan Opera the next year when they did “Samson and Delilah.” I could not understand the opera, but the story really seemed ex citing. When I heard it was from the Bible, I decided to try to read the Bible myself. I did not find it as interesting as I had hoped, for I could not under stand it. I did have a desire to go to Sunday school and church. However, at the church- my mother attended occa sionally, I did not hear about Christ as a personal Saviour, nor was the Gospel preached. During my first year of junior high school, a friend asked me to go to a Youth for Christ rally. Here I heard the Gospel and when the invitation was giv en, I went forward. A counsellor showed me plainly from the Word of God the why and how of trusting Christ as my personal Saviour. Then I asked Jesus to come into my heart, and I knew He really did come into my life. He not only gave me the assurance of eternal life, but He has made my life here on earth hew, too. I know I am still human, and still have a tendency to sin, but as Christ rules my life, old likes and desires are passing away, and He has given me new desires and goals and joy and peace that I never knew before. Now I know God wants me to serve Him on the foreign field to share with others who have never had the chance to hear about Christ and what He means to me. Thus, I am here at the Biola School of Missionary Medicine to secure some medical training which I know will be needed.
