The modeling is naturalistic and brilliantly captures the broad head with a short muzzle, rope-roll folds above the nose, drooping lips, and pointed teeth, and an underbite with an upturned jaw. Tiny, deep red, precious-stone round eyes are set under thick folds of skin on the brow, making them a focal point of the design. They are flanked by a pair of ears that are down and turned inwards.
