Jewish Population The latest estimate of the Jewish pop ulation of the world is given by David Trietch, a well known statistician. He puts the total number as 15,430,000. In the United States he gives 3,100,- 000. The United States next to Poland and Ukraine, has the largest Jewish population of any country. In New York City alone there are 2,300,000. How great is our responsibiltiy to pre sent the Gospel to them. Jewish Women Vote A recent dispatch says. that Jewish women in Palestine have been granted the vote and will be eligible for elec tion in the constituent assembly. Jewish Control of Things While the Jews are less than 1 per cent of the people in the world it is said that they exercise a 51 per cent con trol. Everything worth while seems to be getting more and more into the hands of the Jews. It is seen especially in the mercantile and banking business, in the mail order business, hotel busi ness, and in the musical and theatrical world. The fact is the Jew is coming into his own more rapidly now than at any time in the last 2000 years. Chinese Help Jews An American Y. M. C. A. worker, while laboring among the Chinese labor corps in Prance, found a body of con secrated and earnest men who gave ex pression to their feelings by raising a large sum of money in aid of Jewish mission work as carried on under the auspices of the United Free Church of Scotland. This interest in the evange lizing of the Jews was the result of modern missionary work among the Chinese, and that they were concerned fpr the salvation of the Jews, is a prop

osition that requires no argument, for they had studied their Bibles. Polish Jews Leaving It is ascertained from reliable sources that on account of the awful persecu tion the Jews in Poland are compelled to bear, 100,000 Jewish families are ready to sell their homes and emigrate to Palestine as soon as the way can be made for them. An Interesting Combination Mr. Gaebelein calls attention to the fact that the advisory board chosen by the Jews to act in connection with their great drive for the Palestine Restoration Fund, consists of Newton D. Baker, sec retary of war; Cardinal Gibbons, head of the Romish church; Dr. Charles Eliot, the Unitarian leader; Bishop Burch of the Episcopal church. That men like Gibbons and Eliot (who is practically an infidel) lend a hand shows the drift of things with the Jews. Preparing for Exodus The papers announce that prepara tions are under way for directing the emigration of the Jews to their own land which will begin in earnest as soon as Great Britain has assumed the man date over Palestine. Central emigration bureaus, with district emigration bu reaus in every country, are being ar ranged. An immigration office at the port of arrival will act as a receiving station, assisting the movements of the Jews to all parts of Palestine. Every emigrant will be subject to rigid physi cal examination and classified as to oc cupation and financial means. Palestine the Nerve Center Palestine is 160 miles long, 60 miles broad and has been the center of the earth since the call of Abram. It has been the truth center of the world since
