THE K I N G ’ S B U S I NE S S just a little child. While the people were all together holding the meeting, the wicked people came up against them in battle, and the people were greatly frightened, but even though the wicked people had a great army, they could not fight against God, and now that God’s people had confessed their sins and had come back to God, He would help them, and while Samuel was praying unto God, the wicked army was coming closer and closer, and then God caused a great thunder storm to come upon the wicked people, and then who do you think were the frightened people? Yes, the thun der was so loud and terrible that all the wicked people started on a run and many of them were killed. The reason God’s people won such a great victory was because they looked unto God for help, just like the little boy told his troubles to his mother. We need to have God to help us every day, and we must obey Him and then He will hear our prayers, and that is why the Lord was with Samuel. (Teach memory verse.) Now I am sure each one of us want God to be with us, so we, too, must obey God’s word every day and let us always remember to tell Jesus about our joys and thank Him for them, and tell Him our troubles and ask Him to help us. Closing Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, help us to remember to pray every day and thank Thee for Thy love, and help us to obey Thee. THE BOOK TO DIE BY Charles H. Spurgeon, when near the end of life’s brief day, said, “What could all the theories of the higher critics do for me now? My theology is very simple. I can express it in four words, and they are enough to die on. They are these, ‘JESUS DIED FOR ME’ (Gal. 2. 20).” Spurgeon’s testimony was simple and complete.

cheerfully, and he was always very quick to obey God, for we remember how he jumped out of bed one night four different times when he thought thp minister was calling him, and it was God speaking his name. Boys and girls that are faithful and obedient, and do their work cheerfully, are sure to grow up to be useful men and women, and they can not do this unless they have God’s love in their hearts. After the aged minister Eli was dead the Lord made Samu'el, who was now a grown man, judge over the people, and in our story today the people of God are in great trouble, for the same heathen peo ple are making war on them, and they are having a very hard time, and now Samuel knows how great a trouble they were in, because they had not been obeying God, but were worshipping idols just like the heathen people about them, and Samuel told the people if they would turn unto God with all their heart and give up the idols, God would deliver them out of the hand of these wicked people. Then the people obeyed Samuel and gave up their idols, and he asked them to come together in one place, and he would pray to God for them. You see Samuel loved God and obeyed Him, and God would hear his prayers, and we remember how Samuel’s mother prayed to God and how her prayer was answered, and of course she had taught Samuel to pray when he was
