An act to amend Section 135 of the Code of Civil Procedure, to amend Sections 37220.7, 45203, 79020, and 88203 of the Education Code, and to amend Sec- tions 6700, 19853, and 19853.1 of the Government Code, relating to Diwali. AB 339, Ortega. Local public employee organiza- tions: notice requirements. Requires public agencies regulated by the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act (MMBA) to give a recognized employee organization (REO) no less than 45 days’ written notice regarding con- tracts to perform services that are within the scope of work of job classifications represented by the REO, among other provisions. An act to add Section 3504.1 to the Government Code, relating to public employment. AB 343, Pacheco. California Public Records Act: elected or appointed officials. Expands the definition of “elected or appointed official” so that protections in existing law against disclosure of personal identi- fying information about such officials apply to more officials. An act to amend Section 7920.500 of the Govern- ment Code, relating to public records. AB 370, Carrillo. California Public Records Act: cyberattacks. This bill adds an additional unusual circumstance under which the initial response time to a public records request may be extended by an agency for an additional 14 days to include the inabil- ity of the agency, because of a cyberattack, to access its electronic servers or systems in order to search for and obtain a record that the agency believes is re- sponsive to a request and is maintained on the serv- ers or systems in an electronic format. An act to amend Section 7922.535 of the Govern- ment Code, relating to public records. AB 417, Carrillo. Local finance: enhanced infra- structure financing districts: community revitaliza- tion and investment authorities. This bill makes var- ious changes to the laws for local agencies to create enhanced infrastructure financing districts (EIFDs) and community revitalization and investment author- ities (CRIAs).
