SB 635, Durazo. Food vendors and facilities: en- forcement activities. This bill prohibits an agency or department of a local authority that regulates street vendors or compact mobile food operations (CMFOs), or enforces sidewalk vending regulations, from collecting citizenship or criminal background data, and limits the activities that a local government can do related to immigration enforcement. An act to amend Sections 51036, 51038, and 51039 of the Government Code, and to amend Sections 114368.8 and 114381 of, and to add Section 114381.3 to, the Health and Safety Code, relating to local gov- ernment. SB 702, Limón. Legislative and gubernatorial ap- pointments: report. This bill (1) requires the office of the Governor to publish on its internet website a re- port that contains aggregate demographic informa- tion on appointments by the office of the Governor, as specified. In addition, this bill (2) requires the office of the Governor to maintain on its internet website a list of every state board and commission, including specified data of every state board and commission. Finally, this bill (3) requires the Secretary of the Sen- ate and the Chief Clerk of the Assembly to publish on their respective internet websites aggregate de- mographic information on the respective legislative appointments of each house, as specified. An act to add Sections 1305 and 1306 to the Gov- ernment Code, relating to state government. SB 707, Durazo. Open meetings: meeting and teleconference requirements. This bill makes vari- ous changes to the rules for local agencies to hold public meetings pursuant to the Ralph M. Brown Act (Brown Act). SB 782, Pérez. Enhanced infrastructure financing district: climate resilience districts. This bill creates a subcategory of climate resilience districts to fi- nance disaster recovery efforts. An act to add Section 62313 to the Government Code, relating to local government, and declaring the urgency thereof, to take effect immediately. SB 827, Gonzalez. Local agency officials: training. This bill modifies existing ethics training require- ments and adds a new ethical, fiscal, and financial training requirement for local officials. An act to amend Sections 53234, 53235.1, and 53235.2 of, and to add Article 2.4.6 (commencing with Section 53238) to Chapter 2 of Part 1 of Division 2 of Title 5 of, the Government Code, relating to local government. SB 852, Committee on Elections and Constitu- tional Amendments. Political Reform Act of 1974: Citizens Redistricting Commission. This bill makes noncontroversial changes to the Political Reform Act (PRA) on various matters and to the Voters FIRST Act on how a vacancy on the Citizens Redistricting Commission (CRC) is filled. An act to amend Sections 8252.5, 81012, 84309, and 87500 of the Government Code, relating to state and local government. SB 858, Committee on Local Government. Local Government Omnibus Act of 2025. This bill proposes minor changes to state laws governing local govern- ments’ powers and duties. An act to amend Sections 25103, 25105, 25121, 26802.5, 36932, 37396, 53601, 57002, 62463, and 62464 of the Government Code, to amend Section 21221 of, and to amend the heading of Article 89 (commencing with Section 21220) of Chapter 1.5 of Part 3 of Division 2 of, the Public Contract Code, and to amend Section 11865 of the Public Utilities Code, relating to local government. SB 859, Committee on Governmental Organiza- tion. California State Lottery: prize money: imme- diate payment. This bill increases the amount, from $1,000 to $100,000, that the California State Lottery (Lottery) may immediately pay out to a Lottery win- ner at a district office.
