Digital HSE Management CyView is our online HSE platform that enhances workplace safety and efficiency. It centralises HSE processes and streamlines administrative tasks while maintaining safety standards. Accessible on electronic devices, CyView facilitates seamless coordination and communication
Safety Fund To drive and support safety initiatives, we established a safety fund in 2019/20. This fund provides financial support for developing safety ideas and implementing safety projects. More than 20 health and safety initiative projects have received grants totalling over HK$3 million. Key projects include CsMon development, powered cargo stair climber, hydraulic winches for cable laying works, quick- install temporary lorry guardrails, quick-install reusable road markings for temporary traffic arrangements and virtual reality safety training. HSE Innovation and Technology Award We established the HSE Innovation and Technology Award to recognise safety leadership and innovative approaches to workplace safety and technology. This award also encourages subcontractor participation as part of our subcontractor engagement in safety. Key projects include custom-made anti-collision sensor, remote camera for site surveys in under-platform voids (confined spaces) and solar-powered evaporative cooling system for warehouse. Several projects that received safety fund were also recognised with this award.

Best Site Safety Initiative Award We established the Best Site Safety Initiative Award to recognise and encourage outstanding safety practices within our organisation. This initiative, open to both employees and subcontractor workers, promotes safety awareness, fosters innovation in safety protocols and highlights exemplary safety efforts across sites. By acknowledging and rewarding best practices, we motivate our teams to prioritise safety and facilitate sharing of successful strategies. Key projects include customised lift jack, easy fix soil barrier, quick-install railing, enhanced trench entrance, portable battery charger for handheld tools, portable tyre step, shaft lifting safety warning device, cable laying conveyor, powered cargo stair climber, and campervan. Encouraging Proactive Reporting We implement a Proactive Reporting Incentive Programme, a reward-based initiative that fosters safety culture. It encourages employees and subcontractor workers to report near-misses and share positive actions that enhance workplace health and safety. Each quarter, we select the best reports for formal acknowledgement and rewards. Each year, we give additional recognition and rewards to the top reports. This programme promotes active reporting, recognises safety contributions, and helps identify risks and prevent accidents. Strengthening Incident Investigation and Analysis We implement a formal process for investigating safety incidents and accidents, supported by internal guidelines and procedures for conducting and managing these investigations. The incident's classification level determines the composition of the investigation team or panel. This ensures we allocate suitable expertise and resources to each case. The investigation process aims to identify underlying deficiencies, contributing factors and corrective actions. Following an investigation, the findings and remedial action plan will be submitted to the Corporate HSEQ Committee and top management for approval. Once approved, we share results with relevant stakeholders, implement improvements and review their effectiveness to prevent similar incidents.

Fostering Engagement and Accountability To foster active participation and promote a culture of safety accountability throughout the organisation, we establish clear roles and responsibilities within the project teams. Utilising a safety performance points system, an individual merit/demerit system, in various projects, we hold individuals accountable for their behaviour and practices. This system rewards positive safety behaviours while promptly and fairly addressing unsafe practices, helping us track and evaluate safety compliance.
Smart Confined Space Management and Monitoring Our Smart Confined Space Management and Monitoring (“CsMon”) platform and mobile app combine IoT, LoRa, AI, Bluetooth and cloud computing for comprehensive safety controls and emergency management in confined space operations. It tracks and displays critical information in real time, including hazardous gases, temperature, humidity, airflow and water levels. This ensures compliance, automates incident monitoring, provides worker visibility, enables customised emergency responses, and leverages data analytics for risk prediction and mitigation planning.
Worker competency is critical for confined space works. The platform includes procedures checking, competency and compliance verification, environment monitoring, alerts, site video surveillance and event logging. These features enhance situational awareness for workers both inside and outside the confined space. Live Video Monitoring We deploy real-time CCTV systems with over 120 cameras at all active cable trenching and laying sites. Videos feed into an online platform for live monitoring and to identify potential safety hazards, non-compliance with safety protocols and unsafe work practices. The system enables immediate intervention when risks are detected, helping prevent incidents before they occur.
