Environmental Management
Integrated Management System
Trees Transplanting and Relocation
We are committed to fighting climate change, managing and reducing our emissions, and using resources responsibly and efficiently. Our approach is supported by a HSEQ management system certified to ISO 14001:2015, our Environmental Policy and Climate Change Policy, and internal procedures. It ensures we maintain compliance with environmental laws and regulations, effectively manage environmental risks and impacts, and consistently enhance our environmental performance through ongoing improvements. The Corporate HSEQ Committee oversees the management system and environmental-related matters.

Advance Works at Kwu Tung Station for the East Rail Line Protection Our team transplanted 13 trees by carefully uprooting them, protecting them during transport and re-establishing them at new locations.
To contribute to Hong Kong’s target to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, Kum Shing strives to responsibly manage and reduce the carbon footprint and environmental impacts of its operations, and offer green and sustainable solutions to the value chain.
Soil and Rootball Preservation
Retain soil around the rootball to protect the root system Wrap the rootball to prevent moisture loss Prune the tree to reduce root stress and improve survival Protect against mechanical damage and moisture loss during lifting and transport Monitor for stress or disease and provide care including watering, weeding, fertilisation and pest management
Moisture Retention
Pruning and Crown Reduction
Damage Prevention
Project Environmental Management
Monitoring and Aftercare
At the start of each project, we identify environmental aspects that can be controlled and influenced, and then review their potential impacts. To address these, we implement appropriate on-site control and mitigation measures to prevent, control, minimise and mitigate the identified environmental impacts. For example, when undertaking underground cable laying projects near sensitive areas such as residential buildings, schools and healthcare facilities, we utilise trenchless technologies where feasible and implement control measures, such as noise barriers, to minimise vibration, noise and dust impacts on surrounding communities.
Environmental Engagement
Achieving sustainable development requires collective action. We endeavour to raise awareness among our stakeholders, including employees, suppliers and business partners, and encourage them to embrace sustainability practices through newsletters, various engagements and training sessions.

Vegetation Protection
We protect existing vegetation in and around project areas to minimise impact on surrounding plants. For projects involving vegetation transplantation and relocation, we implement protection and re-establishment measures to ensure the health and survival of plants during the process and in their new locations.
