Through a descriptive-analytical approach, the study aims to provide a general and comprehensive description of the repercussions of the war in Ukraine on energy security in Russia. This involves examining strategic gains and their effects on energy supplies, as well as Russian energy security in the context of the war in Ukraine, alternatives, constraints and ultimately Russian influence in the energy sector amid the risks and threats that may impact its relations with other countries due to the war. The study concludes that the war in Ukraine has significant implications for energy security among nations, and that it plays a clear role in shaping Russian foreign policy and poses a threat to the Russian energy security system, especially with the suspension of natural gas supply and delivery to some of the countries it has affected.
