customer as well. That may be to run faster, eliminate a second pass, save materials, and/or reduce labor. For ex- ample, ColorDry® XL3000 allows printers to run at higher speeds, it allows them to convert many two-pass jobs to a single pass and enhances the quality of the finished prod- uct. With just that one JB product converters can potential- ly cut their production time in at least half. Now what if we add additional JB products to the same converting line? “InKomand® has dramatically grown, and continues to grow, in popularity with converters around the world. It allows converters to eliminate color variation, vastly re- duce machine stoppages even in the most extreme cli- mates. Another significant benefit is it’s a true set-it-and- forget product that eliminates the need for an operator to ‘baby sit’ the ink throughout the production run. Users report significantly quicker cleanups, little to no buildup in ink chambers and systems, and dramatically reduced ink waste. InKomand continuously monitors temperature to maintain optimum ink performance. If chemical adjust- ers become necessary, the system automatically adds the precise amount necessary. Once the system is dialed in and matched to your operation, it’s hands off. Operators can perform other production related tasks without wor- rying about the ink. With InKomand you can run the same color in January as you can in August with virtually no op- erator intervention. “Now we bring AutoDryer Control™ (ADC) into the mix. ADC automatically optimizes the power usage to provide optimal drying with minimal power consumption. It auto- matically adjusts power levels based on substrate, ink and machine speed. After the initial job setup, operators nev- er need to touch it again. Now, instead of blasting every dryer at 100 percent, or tinkering with the power setting throughout the order, you just turn it on and forget it. Users in both the US and internationally have reported dramatic energy savings with ADC. “AutoWash™, another of our recent innovative products, follows the trend of automating to save labor and time. It performs pre, post and during production plate washes in less than four minutes regardless of the number of colors. Instead of a crew member taking five, ten, or even fifteen minutes to wash a single plate, all plates can be washed, dried and ready for production or storage while the crew tend to other tasks. AutoWash includes a 1.5 second ‘in-production’ print defect/hickey removal cycle which dramatically reduces downtime, especially on large runs. “So, when we add multiple JB products to a single con- verting line, the savings are compounded and become ex- ponential. “Looking forward in 2023, the trend of automation, op- timization of labor assets, and the need to reduce and min- imize overhead will continue to grow. Regardless of the economic situation, the need to maintain a competitive ad- vantage remains strong and top of mind with converters and streamlining manufacturing processes will continue to play a major role in that pursuit.
