Recipe of the Month! Spaghetti Squash with Garlic & Herb Pesto
Ingredients:
Spaghetti Squash:
1 Medium squash 1 tbsp olive oil Salt and pepper to taste
Pesto:
2 cups fresh basil leaves 1 cup fresh spinach 2 garlic cloves 1/4 cup toasted pine nuts (or walnuts) 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Toppings:
Cherry tomatoes, halved Toasted pumpkin seeds or pine nuts Fresh parsley garnish
1/3 cup olive oil Juice of 1 lemon Salt and pepper to taste
Spaghetti Squash with Garlic & Herb Pesto Instructions: 1.Roast the Squash: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and remove seeds. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and place cut side down on a baking sheet. Roast for 35- 40 minutes until tender. 2. Make the Pesto: In a food processor, combine basil, spinach, garlic, pine nuts, Parmesan (if using), lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Pulse until combined. Slowly add olive oil while processing until smooth. 3. Scrape the Squash Once cooked, use a fork to scrape the squash into strands. Transfer to a large bowl. 4. Combine & Serve: Toss the spaghetti squash with pesto. Top with cherry tomatoes, toasted seeds, and parsley.

Create your secure online member account today
Member account to-do list:
Print out or save your ID card to your smartphone

Visit ameritas.com/sign-in and select ‘Member Sign In’ under ‘Dental, Vision & Hearing.’

Register
Review your plan details including maximum benefit, deductible amounts and your remaining benefits
Under first-time users, select ‘Register Now’ and complete the form. Log into your new account and complete the verification process.

Check if your current provider is part of the Ameritas Dental Network
Provide the personal information used at enrollment including name, date of birth and ZIP Code. Mark if you are the insured member and enter your member ID. Due to HIPAA regulations, only the primary member/policyholder has full account access. Learn more about access levels. Go paperless. Sign up to receive your explanation of benefits (EOB) statements online. To receive electronic EOBs instead of paper statements, select the go paperless option once you are logged in or when setting up your member account.

Evaluate your potential out-of-pocket costs • Located in your secure member account, the dental cost estimator lets you compare estimated procedure charges based on ZIP Code. You can search estimates for both in-network and out-of-network providers. • Ask your dentist to submit a pretreatment estimate for any dental work you consider expensive. Then Ameritas will let you know the amount insurance will cover so you can budget for the remainder. The pretreatment estimate is based on your plan benefits and submitted claims.

You can use your dental benefits with any provider. The thing to consider is out-of-network dentists will charge you their regular rates, whereas Ameritas network providers have agreed to charge you 25-50% less. After your plan benefits are applied, you pay the remaining balance.
