After many incredible years of learning and growing from different experiences, my good friend Reimon Gutierrez intro- duced me to anthroposophy and Rudolf Steiner. This was some 15 years ago, when I started reading and studying Steiner’s lectures and books and attending his workshops, which included parts of the scientific works of Goethe, entitled The 12 Senses . It was a turning point in my artistic growth. It clarified my artistic mission, one that carries a big responsibility. In the process of studying Steiner, another blessing came when I encountered Dr. Rudolf Hauschka and his books, The Nature of Substance, Spirit and Matter and Nutrition . Among other things, he wrought unexpected changes in my personal behavior and outlook in life. He taught me about the exquisite existence of all living things (including those that may not be physically attractive according to present standards) and the cosmic order that brings about everything physical and astral around us. Rudolf Steiner and Dr. Hauschka have brightened my life beyond words can describe. It’s like I have been reborn with a new perspective—one of deeper love and respect for everything that manifests itself into physical form, as well as those of the My grandparents and parents were the best teachers one could ever have. My two younger sisters and I felt their love, notwithstanding the heavy dose of what I should now describe as fair discipline.
