But with all those achievements, he never bragged, he kept his feet on the ground. As the Math Society president, I had seen his passion for sharing his love for mathematics with every student. There was this program where he selected six students from each year level, which he called the Math Circle. Having been selected, I experienced the extensive series of reviews from his special weekend class for free. And what was the benefit? We learned and were able to extend help to other students. After some months of training and reviewing, our organiza- tion then started offering free tutorials to students who had difficulty with mathematics, as reported by their teachers. He required us to check the grades of our tutees every quarter with their corresponding math subjects, so as to ensure that they were improving. He gave everyone a pat on the back to keep them going. He was full of ideas. He was the one who proposed our organization’s Sci-Math Camp, where, as he said, “students learn while having fun.” It was also his idea to have an Inter- School Math Camp to modify the old-fashioned Math Quiz Bee. He did not want just selected students competing in quiz bees; he wanted everyone to join. So he launched Math Relay, Math Trivia and a lot more. He wanted students to love math like he did.
