Lourd de Veyra wrote this touching piece on Ophelia Alcantara- Dimalanta a few months before she died on November 4, 2010. After college de Veyra worked as staff writer in the lifestyle section of Today, while not neglecting to pleasure the muse with “ intimate effu- sions” of his reflective, provocative poetry. De Veyra is guitarist and vocalist of the popular rock band Radioactive Sago Project. He has recorded a hit song , the political-satire rap “Gusto Ko ng Baboy,” a surprising turn for a Palanca awardee for literature.
