TIPQC, still relatively young, now enjoys autonomous status, the highest award bestowed on a school by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), while the 50-year-old TIP Manila has deregulated status from the CHED. TIP has come into its own—enjoying the autonomous status bestowed in December 2009 by the CHED on only 44 schools and deregulated status on only 14 schools out of 1,741 schools nationwide.
