MATING SUGGESTIONS: At a time when many breeders are searching for outcrosses, American Pharoah’s bloodlines make him particularly valuable. Mr Prospector is back in the sixth generation of his foals and his pedigree is free of A.P. INDY , SEATTLE SLEW , DANZIG , SADLER’S WELLS , DEPUTY MINISTER , ROBERTO and HALO . Even Storm Cat is back in the fourth generation of his foals and Fappiano in the fifth, allowing a second line. American Pharoah’s Gr.1-winning half-sister Chasing Yesterday is by TAPIT , so it is hardly surprising that ten of his first 12 starters out of TAPIT mares are winners, including Gr.1 winner Harvey’s Lil Goil. TAPIT is a grandson of A.P. INDY and American Pharoah already has BTWs out of mares by A.P. Indy’s sons BERNARDINI , FLATTER , A.P. WARRIOR and MINESHAFT . American Pharoah’s Gr.3 winner Promiseher America is out of an UNBRIDLED’S SONG mare and is therefore inbred 4x3 to UNBRIDLED . American Pharoah has numerous options from the MR PROSPECTOR male line, including KINGMAMBO , CARSON CITY , CITY ZIP , SMART STRIKE , CURLIN , DISTORTED HUMOR , SPEIGHTSTOWN and STREET CRY . American Pharoah’s first Group winner, the speedy Maven, was out of a grand-daughter of DISTORTED HUMOR , while his smart Japanese dirt horse Danon Pharaoh is out of a grand-daughter of MR. GREELEY . He also has the Gr.2 winner Forbidden Kingdom out of a grand-daughter of CARSON CITY . American Pharoah’s Gr.1 2YO Van Gogh is out of a daughter of SADLER’S WELLS while his first 30 starters out of GALILEO mares included six Group performers, headed by Gr.1 winner Above The Curve, Gr.2 winner Pista and 2024 2YO Gr.3 winner Dreamy. His Gr.1 winner Goldrush Guru is from a daughter of MEDAGLIA D’ORO . Pioneerof The Nile did well with the HAIL TO REASON line and American Pharoah is now mirroring this success, with Gr.2 winner Four Wheel Drive and Japanese Gr.1 dirt winner Café Pharoah from mares by MORE THAN READY . GIANT’S CAUSEWAY is the broodmare sire of American Pharoah’s Gr.1-placed son Pioneering Spirit and his good French winner Ocean Atlantique, while his Gr.2 winner Sweet Melania has a dam by STORM CAT’s grandson DISCREET CAT and is therefore inbred 4x4, as are the Gr.3 winners Promiseher America, Head of State, Waskesiu and Turned Aside. The Gr.1 winner Marketsegmentation and Gr.2 winner Pista have second dams by STORM CAT and are therefore inbred 4x3. American Pharoah is showing distinct promise with daughters of SCAT DADDY , siring Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile place-getters Mackinnon and Jody’s Pride. American Pharoah’s Gr.1-winner As Time Goes By has a dam by DEHERE and his Listed winner Fi Fi Pharoah is out of a GHOSTZAPPER mare. Mares by AWESOME AGAIN are another option from the DEPUTY MINISTER line. A daughter of IN EXCESS produced the Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming to Bodemeistere. Pioneerof The Nile had 13% Graded stakes winners with mares by INDIAN CHARLIE and his only foal out of an UNCLE MO mare was Gr.2 winner Southlawn, which suggests that daughters of UNCLE MO will suit with American Pharoah well. American Pharoah’s speedy Gr.3 winner Turned Aside and his prolific stakes winner Forever Souper have dams by WAR FRONT . This suggests he could thrive with mares by other sons of DANZIG , such as HARD SPUN and EXCHANGE RATE . 7

MATING SUGGESTIONS: When the votes were tallied for the 2021 Eclipse Award for 2-year-old male, Corniche was declared a runaway winner, with 214 votes compared to 12 for his nearest rival. This wide margin of success reflected the impressive nature of Corniche’s first season. His potential was so obvious when he breezed a furlong in :10 flat at the Ocala Breeders’ sale in April that his price soared to a sale-topping $1,500,000. 10

Corniche was to repay most of that outlay in winning his three two-year-old starts, commencing with an easy win over 5½ furlongs at Del Mar in September. Less than four weeks later Corniche had earned Gr.1-winner status, with a dominant display in the American Pharoah Stakes. Drawn 11 of 11 in the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, Corniche was fast enough to clear the field by the first turn and he maintained his speed to remain unbeaten. Although Corniche excelled on dirt, he has a pedigree which should allow him to sire smart winners on all surfaces. 20 of his dam Wasted Tears’ 22 starts were on turf, on which she won 12 times, including 5 times at Graded Stakes level. His sire Quality Road did even better. Out of the first two only twice in a 13-race career, Quality Road was versatile enough to set a track record over 6½ furlongs and two more over a mile and an eighth. He has done so well, with 15 Gr.1 winners in his early crops, that he is now one of Kentucky’s most in-demand stallions. The chances are that Quality Road will found a flourishing male line, as City of Light, another of his best sons, has already sired Fierceness, winner of the 2023 Eclipse Award for 2YO males before going on to land the Gr.1 Florida Derby by 13½ lengths, the Gr.1 Travers Stakes from Thorpeda Anna and ran second in the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Classic. Bearing in mind that recent winners of the Eclipse Award for 2-year-old male include Uncle Mo, American Pharoah, Nyquist and Good Magic, Corniche can be expected to pass on his considerable ability. His pedigree allows him endless options. For example, his pedigree is free of such as A.P. INDY , TAPIT , CANDY RIDE , SMART STRIKE , CURLIN , DANZIG , WAR FRONT , STORM CAT , GIANT’S CAUSEWAY , MEDAGLIA D'ORO , INDIAN CHARLIE , AWESOME AGAIN and DISTORTED HUMOR , and he has only one line of MR PROSPECTOR , who will be in the fifth generation of his foals’ pedigrees. His sire Quality Road has enjoyed marked success with STORM CAT blood, siring Graded winners from daughters of STORM CAT , HENNESSY (3), TABASCO CAT , GIANT’S CAUSEWAY , SCAT DADDY and INTO MISCHIEF . He has also thrived with daughters of DIXIE UNION , broodmare sire of three of his Gr.1 winners, including KLIMT (whose second dam is by STORM CAT ). Quality Road has Gr.1 winners out of grand-daughters of A.P. INDY , including two out of mares by BERNARDINI and another out of a MALIBU MOON mare. DEPUTY MINISTER mares had two Gr.1 winners, including champion Abel Tasman, among their small number of foals by Quality Road, who also sired the top-class City of Light from a mare by Deputy Minister’s son DEHERE . Quality Road also owes two of his Gr.1 winners to grand-daughters of DANZIG , with Bleecker Street having a dam by EXCHANGE RATE and Illuminant being out of a POLISH NUMBERS mare. The SADLER’S WELLS line must also be considered for Corniche. Quality Road’s 2023 Preakness Stakes winner National Treasure has a dam by MEDAGLIA D’ORO , and Quality Road’s first 17 starters out of mares by GALILEO include two Graded/Group winners. Quality Road has also had Gr.2 success with Road To Success (out of a TIZNOW mare) and Agate Road (out of a mare by Tiznow’s son GEMOLOGIST ).

❝ He's physically spectacular and he's got the pedigree ❞ Marette Farrell , purchaser of Corniche for a sale-topping $1.5m at OBS April on behalf of Peter Fluor & Speedway Stable

Corniche wins the American Pharoah Stakes-Gr.1 by a wide margin and in a faster time than leading young sire Nyquist .

Allen Jerkens Memorial, a highly competitive event over seven furlongs. Ten months earlier the homebred son of Practical Joke had gained his first success, at the second attempt, with a clear-cut victory over a mile and an eighth at Belmont at Aqueduct. His connections were happy to keep him at distances beyond a mile and he generally performed very creditably, finishing ahead of champion 2YO Fierceness when second in the Gr.3 Holy Bull Stakes prior to winning the Gr.3 Tampa Bay Derby over 1 1 ⁄ 16 miles. The mile and a quarter of the Kentucky Derby proved beyond him and we didn’t see the real Domestic Product until he was dropped back to a mile in the Gr.3 Dwyer Stakes, just as his sire Practical Joke had done after finishing fifth in the Kentucky Derby. Practical Joke won the Dwyer, and his son won even more impressively, romping home by 7½ lengths. The parallels between father and son continued when they dropped back further in distance in Saratoga’s H. Allen Jerkens Memorial and both were successful again in this seven-furlong contest. As a son of Practical Joke and grandson of Into Mischief, Domestic Product can be expected to work his way up through the ranks as a stallion. Into Mischief was famously transformed from a $7,500 stallion into a multiple champion sire standing at $250,000, while Practical Joke is also upwardly mobile after being represented in 2024 by such as Ways And Means, Mufasa and Domestic Product. The parallels between Domestic Product and his sire are likely to continue in his new career. He will be easy to use, as STORM CAT , MR PROSPECTOR and DANZIG are back in the fifth generation of his pedigree and SEATTLE SLEW 14

is even further back. Twelve of Into Mischief’s Gr.1 winners are from MR PROSPECTOR line mares, with Practical Joke representing Into Mischief’s flourishing partnership with Distorted Humor mares. Practical Joke’s Gr.1 Santa Anita Derby winner Practical Move is out of a mare by AFLEET ALEX , also sire of the 2nd dam of his Gr.1-placed 2YO Laurent. Into Mischief’s Kentucky Derby winner Authentic has a dam by GONE WEST’s son MR GREELEY , who has 17% black-type winners with Into Mischief. Gr.1 winners Mia Mischief and Mischevious Alex are out of other grand-daughters of GONE WEST , by SPEIGHTSTOWN , who has 18% black-type winners with Into Mischief. Into Mischief also has black-type winners out of mares by GONE WEST’s sons ELUSIVE QUALITY , GRAND SLAM and PROUD CITIZEN , as well as ELUSIVE QUALITY’S son QUALITY ROAD . Practical Joke already has black-type winners out of daughters of ELUSIVE QUALITY (2), SPEIGHTSTOWN (2) and PROUD CITIZEN . Audible, another of Into Mischief’s sons, sired Gr.2 winner My Mane Squeeze from a SPEIGHTSTOWN mare. UNBRIDLED mares have a magnificent 50% Graded Stakes winners with Into Mischief, thanks to the very talented Covfefe and Gr.2 winners Largent and Private Mission. There are also Gr.1 winners out of daughters of EMPIRE MAKER and UNBRIDLED’S SONG , with EMPIRE MAKER being the broodmare sire of Mandaloun and Laurel River, while UNBRIDLED’S SONG sired the dam of Gina Romantica. Another Gr.1 winner from the FAPPIANO branch is Doppelganger, out of a QUIET AMERICAN mare. Into Mischief also sired Gr.2 winner Maximus Mischief from a SONGANDAPRAYER mare. Into Mischief is also shaping up well with mares by CANDY RIDE , siring four BTWs from 29 foals, and Practical Joke is following suit, with three BTWs (19%) from 16 foals, including Gr.1 winner Chocolate Gelato. Into Mischief has two BTWs from eight foals out of CARSON CITY mares and a Gr.3 winner out of a mare by Carson City’s son FIVE STAR DAY . Practical Joke has a Gr.3 winner out of a grand-daughter of CARSON CITY . Other MR PROSPECTOR line stallions which appear among the broodmare sires of Into Mischief’s Graded winners include SMART STRIKE , CURLIN , LOOKIN AT LUCKY , LEMON DROP KID , ALDEBARAN , MACHIAVELLIAN , LINE IN THE SAND and VICTORY GALLOP . SEATTLE SLEW line mares are worth considering for Domestic Product, especially now that Practical Joke has sired the Gr.3 winner Girl With A Dream from a grand-daughter of PULPIT . Into Mischief has Graded winners with dams by A.P. INDY , BERNARDINI , MINESHAFT , MALIBU MOON and MAJESTIC WARRIOR , and he’s also impressing with daughters of TAPIT , with Gr.1 winner Pretty Mischievous heading his five BTWs from 52 foals. Practical Joke has a Listed winner out of a FLATTER mare, plus the Gr.1-placed 2023 2YO Laurent out of a grand-daughter of TAPIT and Gr.3 winner Girl With A Dream out of a mare by A.P. Indy’s grandson CORINTHIAN . Into Mischief has two black-type winners from four foals out of mares by DANZIG and he has the Gr.2 Mother Goose winner Gerrymander out of a HARD SPUN mare, as well as Gr.2 winners out of grand-daughters of LANGFUHR and DANEHILL . Practical Joke has made an eye-catching start with MEDAGLIA D’ORO mares, siring the Gr.1-placed Gr.3 winner Wit, as well as the Gr.1 winner Ways And Means from a mare by Medaglia d’Oro’s son WARRIOR’S REWARD . Practical Joke also has southern hemisphere Gr.1 winners from mares by SADLER’S WELLS ’ sons GALILEO and POWERSCOURT . Practical Joke already has BTWs out of mares by DIXIELAND BAND and his son DIXIE UNION . Practical Joke has achieved 23% BTWs with daughters of SCAT DADDY , notably siring Mufasa, winner of the Gr.3 Vosburgh. Into Mischief has Gr.1 and Gr.2 winners out of mares by INDIAN CHARLIE , who also sired the dam of Practical Joke’s Gr.1-placed filly Kaling. Practical Joke’s accomplished sprinter Skelly is out of a mare by Indian Charlie’s son BWANA CHARLIE . Practical Joke also has a couple of black-type performers out of UNCLE MO mares. Domestic Product could also suit TIZNOW mares, as Into Mischief has sired Gr.1 winner Played Hard from a TIZNOW mare and Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup winner Wonder Wheel from a daughter of TIZ WONDERFUL . Into Mischief is having success with the HAIL TO REASON line. Daughters of MORE THAN READY have 21% BTWs with him, while ARCH mares have two BTWs among their 11 foals (18%) by Into Mischief. Mares by Arch’s son BLAME have also made a promising start with him. Practical Joke has the Gr.3 winner Little Vic out of a mare by Kris S.’s son ROCK HARD TEN . 15

MATING SUGGESTIONS: As many as five sons of Speightstown, including the consistently progressive Munnings, have sired northern hemisphere Gr.1 winners. Echo Town is well qualified to join them, as he decisively landed the H. Allen Jerkens 18

Stakes at Saratoga – a race won in the past by such as Practical Joke, Drefong, Runhappy, Hard Spun, Henny Hughes, More Than Ready and Tale Of The Cat. That victory was the fourth of Echo Town’s career and he was also second in the Gr.1 Woody Stephens Stakes. Echo Town is one of several Graded winners by Speightstown with inbreeding to Storm Cat. Speightstown is out of a daughter of Storm Cat and Echo Town’s second line comes via his Gr.2-winning dam Letgomyecho, who is by a son of Harlan, sire of the very successful Harlan’s Holiday and grandsire of Champion Sire Into Mischief. Letgomyecho now has a second Gr.1 winner to her credit in 2021’s champion 2YO filly Echo Zulu (by Gun Runner). As a leading winner over seven furlongs, Echo Town has a similar profile to Munnings, Speightstown’s most successful stallion son. Echo Town’s female line has produced Stakes winners to two sons of A.P. INDY , so it is very relevant that Munnings has sired the Gr.2 winners Finite and Bonny South from daughters of champion sire TAPIT , as well as Graded winners from daughters of A.P. INDY and BERNARDINI . His statistics stand at 8% black-type winners from TAPIT mares and 25% from A.P. INDY mares. Speightstown owes his Gr.1 winner Lexitonian to a TAPIT mare. Munnings also has 33% black-type winners among his nine foals out of mares by A.P. INDY’s son FLATTER . Speightstown’s seven black-type winners out of daughters of A.P. INDY include four Graded winners, headed by Gr.1 winner Flagstaff. Mares with A.P. INDY blood should therefore suit Echo Town very well. Echo Town’s Keeneland stakes-winning daughter Echo Sound is out of a mare by MR PROPECTOR’s son FUSAICHI PEGASUS and is therefore inbred 4x3 to the great stallion. Speightstown has several good performers inbred either 3x3 or 3x4 to MR PROSPECTOR , including Travers Stakes winner Golden Ticket, Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner Tamarkuz, dual Gr.1 winner Charlatan, Jockey Club Gold Cup winner Olympiad and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Sharing. Munnings has the Gr.2 winner Venetian Harbor out of a STREET CRY , who also sired the dam of Speightstown’s Gr.3 winner Barbados. Munnings also has black-type winners from the UNBRIDLED , GONE WEST , SMART STRIKE , FORTY NINER and KINGMAMBO branches, with the very talented Jack Christopher being out of a grand-daughter of UNBRIDLED’S SONG , while the smart miler Warrior’s Charge has a dam by BROKEN VOW . Munnings’ 2YO Gr.1 winner EDA has a dam by LEMON DROP KID . ECHO TOWN is inbred 3x4 to STORM CAT . SCAT DADDY mares would be a safe means of introducing extra lines of STORM CAT and MR PROSPECTOR , creating 4x4 to Mr Prospector and 4x5x5 to STORM CAT . Munnings has Graded winners out of daughters of TABASCO CAT , FREUD , GIANT’S CAUSEWAY and AFTER MARKET . Mares by these sons of STORM CAT would produce 4x5x3 to STORM CAT with Echo Town. Munnings’ first few starters out of INTO MISCHIEF mares include Listed winner Swill. Munnings sired his first Gr.1 winner, I’m A Chatterbox, from a grand-daughter of DANZIG and the Gr.3 winner Munny Spunt from a HARD SPUN mare. Mares from the DANZIG male line should also suit Echo Town. Speightstown sired the Gr.1 winners Jersey Town and Seek Again from mares by BELONG TO ME and DANEHILL and Speightstown also has Graded winners out of daughters of DANZIG , HARD SPUN , DAYJUR , ZIETEN , ORPEN , HONOR GRADES and SEA HERO . Echo Town should thrive with speedy daughters of such as WAR FRONT , LANGFUHR , EXCHANGE RATE and WAR CHANT . Echo Town has stakes winner Elegant Echo from a mare by VIOLENCE , whose sire MEDAGLIA D’ORO is broodmare sire of four of Speightstown’s Gr.1 winners. Speightstown sired another Gr.1 winner from a grand-daughter of SADLER’S WELLS , by PERFECT SOUL . Munnings has a Gr.2 winner with a dam by EL PRADO along with four BTWs with mares by MEDAGLIA D’ORO . Daughters of KITTEN’S JOY are another option for Echo Town. The DEPUTY MINISTER branch has plenty of potential, as Speightstown sired the Travers Stakes winner Golden Ticket from a DEPUTY MINISTER mare and he is also one of three sons of Gone West to have sired a Gr.1 winner from mares by sons of Deputy Minister. Munnings has had stakes success with mares by SALT LAKE and SILVER DEPUTY . BLUSHING GROOM sired the second dams of Speightstown’s Gr.1 winners Seek Again and Lord Shanakill, and Speightstown also has stakes winners out of daughters of RAHY , MT LIVERMORE , RAINBOW QUEST and PEAKS AND VALLEYS . Speightstown has two black-type winners out of INDIAN CHARLIE mares, including the speedy Gr.1 winner Switzerland. Daughters of UNCLE MO could suit Echo Town, as Munnings’ Gr.1-winning son Howard Wolowitz has a dam by UNCLE MO . 19

MATING SUGGESTIONS: During his career at Ashford Stud, Giant’s Causeway topped the Blood-Horse’s General Sires list three times in the space of four years and rarely finished outside the top four. In the process he was represented by more than 30 northern hemisphere Gr.1 winners and roughly 100 Graded/Group winners. Many of his sons have gone on to sire Gr.1 winners, with Shamardal founding a flourishing dynasty in Europe. Now Giant’s Causeway has another son – the top-class 2YO Not This Time – who promises to do the same in North America. Of his first five crops of racing age, only his 2024 2YOs were sired at a fee higher than $15,000, yet Not This Time is already responsible for the highly impressive total of 37 black-type winners, including six winners at Gr.1 level (four on dirt and two on turf). He has been North America’s leading second-, third- and fourth-crop sire and is again dominating his year group in 2024, even though his opposition includes Nyquist. He managed to become a top-ten stallion at the tender age of eight and repeated that achievement in 2023. He was also a top-ten turf sire in 2023 and 2024, so it wasn’t surprising that he was responsible for a Gr.2 2YO winner at Royal Ascot in 2024. Not This Time’s rise to the top has been spearheaded by his top-class son Epicenter. Injured in the last of his 11 starts, this very consistent colt had previously built a record of six wins and three seconds, his only unplaced effort coming on his debut. An impressive winner of the Gun Runner Stakes at two, Epicenter earned the Eclipse Award for Champion 3-year-old male with his victories in the Gr.2 Risen Star S., Gr.2 Louisiana Derby, Gr.2 Jim Dandy S. and Gr.1 Travers S. He was also a fine second in the Gr.1 Kentucky Derby and Gr.1 Preakness S. Epicenter is by Not This Time out of a Candy Ride mare and so is Simplification, winner of the Gr.2 Fountain of Youth S. and fourth in the Gr.1 Kentucky Derby. They are among Not This Time’s six winners from seven runners out of daughters of Candy Ride. This is significant, because the sensational young stallion Gun Runner is bred to the reverse pattern, by Candy Ride out of a Giant’s Causeway mare. Not This Time already has BTWs out of daughters of A.P. INDY , PULPIT (the Gr.1 winner Sibelius), MINESHAFT , FRIENDS LAKE and TAPIT . The dual Gr.2 winner Arzak is one of Not This Time’s six winners out of TAPIT mares. Significantly, Gun Runner is another who is enjoying success with mares by PULPIT and TAPIT . Gun Runner’s eight black-type winners out of TAPIT mares include Gr.1 winner Society, Gr.2 winners Red Route One and Wicked Halo and Gr.3 winners Disarm and Il Miracolo. Gun Runner’s Gr.1-winning son Gunite has a 2nd dam by PULPIT . Gun Runner’s first starter out of a mare by A.P. INDY’s son FLATTER is the multiple Gr.1 winner Taiba. Epicenter is also well worth trying with mares by MALIBU MOON , another stallion who combined A.P. Indy and Mr Prospector blood. Gun Runner’s foals out of MALIBU MOON mares include Gr.1 winners Sierra Leone and Locked. Mares by BERNARDINI should also work well with Epicenter. Not This Time has Gr.1 winners out of mares by AWESOME AGAIN’s sons GHOSTZAPPER and WILKO , as well as a multiple Gr.2 winner out of an AWESOME AGAIN mare. This suggests mares with DEPUTY MINISTER blood. Mares by SPEIGHTSTOWN and MUNNINGS should be ideal for Epicenter, as Not This Time’s Gr.1 winner Just One Time has a dam by SPEIGHTSTOWN . He also has Gr.2 or Gr.3 winners out of mares by EMPIRE MAKER , SPEIGHTSTOWN , SMART STRIKE , CAPE TOWN and UNBRIDLED’S SONG . He is also showing promise with daughters of CURLIN and CITY ZIP . SONGANDAPRAYER , BROKEN VOW and PIONEEROF THE NILE are other UNBRIDLED line stallions with talented winners by Not This Time, as do Street Cry’s sons STREET SENSE and STREET HERO . EL PRADO’s sons MEDAGLIA D’ORO and PADDY O’PRADO also rank among the dam sires of Not This Time’s BTWs. Not This Time has Gr.2 and Gr.3 winners with 2nd dams by SAINT BALLADO , and also has a Gr.1 winner by a son of SAINT BALLADO .
