and come in unex- p e c t e d l y ? What would He f i n d ? Would you be quar reling w i t h your b r o t h e r s and sis ters ? Some people live very nicely be fore the world, but, oh, my! you should see them at home!

same foundation; 1 Corinthians 3:11 tells about this. But the kind of house we build depends upon how we live.

he gave this warning: "Other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1. Cor. 3:11). Let us look at this first rock. It has a church on it. The church can be a derful help in living the Christian life, but God never intended that people should rest their hope of heaven on the fact that they were members of a church. This rock collapses when I press it. The next rock has a dollar sign on it. Some people are resting their hope of heaven on getting money enough to give great sums to the poor. This, too, is a false rock, and collapses as I press on it. The third rock has a graduation cap on it. It reminds us of education and culture. Both are good in their place, but they never should be taken as foundation stones for eternal life. With a little pressure, this foundation, too, is proved to be false. Here is the true rock, with a red cross < on it, reminding us of the death of the Lord Jesus Christ for our sins. No amount of pressure will make it col lapse. It is the true foundation. It fits the church and keeps it from collapsing. ■When Christ is taken into one’s busi ness, it is strengthened. The box repre senting education and culture is made strong when Christ fills it. Don’t trust in false rocks—trust in Christ, the real Rock. FORTY MISSIONARY STORIES By Margaret W. You never would know they were the same people. We can hide our meanness from the world, but we can never hide it from God. LESSON STORY: One way in which the church is like a family is that some times its members quarrel. Do you think God likes that? I should say He does not! In the Bible, He has given us a great deal abouj a church at Corinth whose members did no.t behave very well. He said He could not teach them some of the deeper things of His grace. I wonder why. Do you ever sit down and have a happy visit with your parents and let them tell you some of the things they are planning for your life? Do you do this when* you have been bad, or when you have been good? God cannot talk over His great plans for us, either, if He has to spend all His time scolding u's. God says our life here is like the building of a house. We all have the The life of Abigail Townsend Luffe gives a positive “yes” to the question, "Does God answer prayer?” You will desire a deeper prayer life and a deeper consecration after reading this story.
