Johanson, and Edward Cedarborg, Oak land, Calif. To become a member of the K. Y. B. Club, first write for the little red book, the Gospel according to John. When you have read it through, and a statement is sent to this effect, signed by parent or Sunday- school teacher, a K.Y.B.C. pin will be sent. If you have a Bible or New Testament of your own, you may read the Gospel of John in this. Please pray for the K.Y.B. Club, that every member might come to know the Lord Jesus as his own Saviour. Also pray for a continued supply of gos pels. Address: Junior Dept, of T he K ing ’ s B usiness , 536 So. Hope Street, Los Angeles, California. . M arch W ord S q u are W orked O ut A A R O N A BA. N A With the coming of spring we all long to be out of doors. I’m sure you boys and girls like to climb grassy hills or tramp through green fields, discovering all th e ' things that have wakened after the long winter. Of course you have watched the- cater pillar as it crawls among the plants and flowers, and no doubt many of you "have discovered a chrysalis, too, which . some one has called the butterfly’s “jeweled sleeping bag.” This is found attached to a branch of a tree, or clinging to a stone, or perhaps fastened to the undersurface o.f an old fence. Boys and girls delight to find these, and generally like to take them to the schoolroom, where all may see a.most wonderful transformation, or change, take place. Have you watched the chrysalis slowly open and a beautiful butterfly emerge? Have you waited, too, to see it spread its R A K E D O N E G A N A D A B

R esu rrectio n Joy I am so glad that Jesus rose, Though in the grave He lay; For earth is bright with that blest light Of resurrection day. I am so glad that Jesus rose, No more to suffer loss; No more to wear a thorny crown Upon a lifted cross. I am so glad that Jesus rose . To glory and renown, For, oh, among the hosts of heaven He wears the brighter crown. I am so glad that Jesus rose In triumph to the skies, For we shall in His glory share When we in Him shall rise. M em ory W o rk for A pril an d May Matt. 28:5-7 John 11:25 Luke 24:1-9 pretty, colored wings and fly away among the sunshine and flowers, leaving behind the ugly brown case?f/ir Down in the old pond, too, live some tiny water-bugs. Most people never notice them, though ; boys generally do. Yet, do you know that in the springtime, at wake-up time, these tiny water-bugs are changed into the pretty dragon flies you have often seen flitting about? They, too, leave be hind an ugly dark case, and their home in the old pond, and seem quite at home among the trees and flowers. ■ As I was shopping in a large store, I passed by a counter which displayed bulbs —ugly brown bulbs.. Though all of the bulbs were of the same color, they differed in size and shape. Above-the division of the counter were signs telling what each group would some day be. There were the large bulbs which would one day become bright red tulips, and the smaller ones which longed to blossom out into yellow crocuses, and the tiny ones hidden away among the lacy-like dried stalks, which were labeled lilies of the valley. Only God the heavenly Father could bring about such a change. And He who does these wonderful things will some day change those who have the Lord Jesus as their Saviour into His very likeness. If He does so much for lilies and butterflies, what will our transformation be? “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2). Yes, boys and girls, we look forward to a glad resurrection day, when we shall be made like unto Him. From the verse we have just read, this is to take place when “He shall appear.” Open your Bibles to 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, and you will find out how this wonderful change is to take place. The Lord Jesus, who ascended up into heaven forty days after His resur rection, is some day to leave His place there at the Father’s right hand, and return for all those who belong to Him. Those who are dead, who accepted the Lord Jesus as their Saviour while living, will be raised up first, and changed into His likeness. Then those who are alive will be changed to be like Him, and to gether all shall meet Him. This is the glad day to which Christians .everywhere are looking forward. That is why the Lord Jesus rose from the dead on that first resurrection day so long ago.

I like the story of the little servant girl. A party of ministers at the home of her employer, who was the local pastor, were discussing, the meaning of the expression, “pray without ceasing.” How this could be done was beyond their theology to ex pound or to comprehend. Hearing their discussion, she reinarked, “How very strange that they cannot un derstand what is so simple. Why, I do that all the time.” “Explain how you practice it, Mary,” said her master. “Well,” replied the girl, “when I first open my eyes, I pray God to ‘open the eyes of my understanding’; when I arise and dress, I pray to be clothed in the robe of Christ’s righteousness; when I kindle the fire, I pray the Holy Spirit to kindle His refining fires in my heart; when I wash, I pray for the washing of regeneration in the water of the Word; when I prepare and partake of breakfast, I pray to esteem God’s words more than my necessary food; and so on, all day long, I find in everything some call to prayer and the remembering of God.”— -T he C hristian I ndex . L ooking in th e W rong Place "He is not here." “Oh, Mother, I am so disappointed ! You told me something beautiful would come out of the brown thing I picked up, and today, when I looked at it, I found a hole in it, and only an empty skin left!” “Ah, my child, you have looked for thé -beautiful thing in the wrong place. Come with me.” She took her boy back to the room, and there, close to the glass of the window, basking in the warmth of the sun, was a beautiful butterfly. The disciples looked in the wrong place when they looked in the tomb. Jesus had risen ! And because He lives, we shall live also.— S unday S chool T imes .
