The Asset and Building Services Manager reports to the Head of Asset Management

The Asset Management section act as Client and work with other stakeholders to define the requirements of the scope of work for projects in order to brief the professional teams engaged to undertake the design development and construction work. This includes undertaking the necessary project management functions on construction schemes in accordance with the Campus project delivery procedure and relevant NEC 4 contract. The main purpose is to maintain a high level of operational standards and provide technical brief and guidance for design and construction activities. The role holder will be responsible for the M&E strategies used in all projects, delivering to the Campus policies, needs and targets. Efficient life-cycle operation and carbon reduction targets will form a key part of this. M&E installations on the Campus can be highly complex to provide environments for science research facilities which are unique within the world. The role holder will ensure the continuous improvement of the M&E brief for projects, as well as developing the process for M&E design assurance incorporated within the Campus Design Principles. The individual will have a proven ability to act as a technical subject expert, challenging the thinking of others and the ability to appropriately prioritise demands and a wide ranging workload.
