The primary objectives of the role are to:

• Have responsibility for the Hard FM Services strategy used to determine projects. • Own and drive an efficient Lifecycle operational strategy by managing and utilising condition and maintenance data to ensure timely delivery and ensure that stakeholders have the best facilities possible. • Undertake engagement with all appropriate stakeholders to develop the Lifecycle and Hard FM strategies; including E&F functions such as energy, sustainability, major projects, user representatives, Campus Health and Safety and M&E supply chains to understand the range of M&E requirements, issues and needs both short and long-term. Particular attention should be made to the Environment and Energy Section on carbon reduction, energy and sustainability targets. • Review and improve the asset life management system, to include regular condition surveys and compilation of plans for client issue. • Support the Asset Managers by reviewing technical design information and provide advice, improvements and agreement of proposals to ensure M&E systems are maintained. • Support the Asset Managers in the resolution of M&E issues in design, construction and post-completion. • Accept new assets on behalf of Asset Management and be present at final testing and commissioning of key assets. • Prioritise project commitments and with the Facilities Management Contractor, maintain an Estates and Facilities Project Programme. • Support the Head of Asset Management, Service Delivery Manager and Technical Assurance Manager to ensure that the KPIs adequately measure the performance of suppliers. In a collaborative nature, act on the results of the KPI data to manage performance and agree improvement plans. • Audit to provide assurance of compliance and FM supplier performance. • Have responsibility for the review and updating of all technical compliance (water/fire/ gas/lifting equipment) documentation. • Review and work with the FM Contractors to improve the maintenance planning system, utilising industry standards and best practice. • Liaise and advise the Head of Major Projects on building services design assurance • Liaise with the E&F Science Support Technical Manger on laboratory equipment and services. • Support the mobilisation of new service providers and de-mobilisation of existing suppliers. • Have responsibility for the Risk Register/Issues Log. Prioritise remedial actions. • Actively seek opportunities for continuous business process improvement in the services. • Work collaboratively with other Estates & Facilities functions, aid Asset Management’s organisational development, and deputise.
