Millions of Copies! “The Reason Why,” now in its seventh million, is one of the outstanding gospel booklets of our day. It was written by Robert A. Laidlaw, the general manager of The Farmers’ Trading Co. Ltd., of Auckland, New Zealand, when he was a very young man. Mr. Laidlaw felt the burden of responsibility for the souls of his hundreds of employees. It was impos sible for him to deal with each one indi vidually, so he made their need a matter for prayer. Linder the leading of the Holy Spirit, he wrote a booklet giving the rea sons for his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. “The Reason Why" is well written; it is logical and un emotional—the kind of explanation that a businessman of outstanding ability would give. The message closes with a consider

ation of the necessity for definite decision, either for or against Christ. "The Reason Why” has been translated into twenty-nine languages. It was used with wonderful results by the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Norton, of the Belgian Gospel Mission. In the course of a private inter view with Benito Mussolini, Mr. and Mrs. Norton gave to the Premier a copy of this booklet in the Italian language, and he promised to read it carefully. The booklet is being used by thousands of soul-winners. A special edition is to be used by the Christian Businessmen’s Com mittee of San Francisco in connection with their Treasure Island exhibit in 1939 at the Golden Gate Exposition in San Francisco. Mr. Laidlaw is married to the sister of H. A. Ironside, beloved pastor of the Moody Memorial Church of Chicago, a man who is known internationally as a speaker and writer. Dr. Ironside is the President of the Western Book and Tract Company, 1730 Telegraph Ave., Oakland, Calif., which will be celebrating its Silver Anniversary in 1939. The Western Book and Tract Company is the headquarters in the United States for “The Reason Why.” Radio Evangelism in Southern California Beginning on Monday, January 2, and continuing for a six-weeks’ campaign, Oscar Lowry will be heard each week day from 9:30 to 10 a . m . and each evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p . m . over KMTR, Los Angeles. Because Mr. Lowry is known from coast to coast as a sane, constructive evangelist, it is not necessary to add that his messages over the air will be Biblical and appealing. At the time Mr. Lowry was conducting a tabernacle campaign in Waterloo, Iowa, a year ago, he was invited to take a half- hour broadcast over a three-station hook up. The response was a surprise to every one concerned. Over 10,000 letters were received during the five weeks of the taber nacle campaign in that city. This experience led Mr. Lowry to believe that an evangelis tic campaign from the studio of a broadcast ing company would be effective in reaching the unchurched masses, and later events have corroborated that view. Persons in Southern California are in vited to tune in to KMTR (at the top of the dial) during the period of Mr. Lowry’s broadcasts, and to pray for the Lord's bless ing upon the faithful preaching of His Word. Biola’s World Wide Prayer Circle From Denmark a member of Biola’s World Wide Prayer Circle writes of the special token for good ’ she personally received in the news of the Institute’s de liverance in the emergency of last August. She mentions 2 Chronicles 7:12-16 as related to this event, and adds: “I am grateful for my membership in Biola’s Prayer Circle, and I believe more than ever that prayer is the most active of Christian activities.” Friends may enroll in the Prayer Circle by choosing a definite hour each week for prayer for the Institute, and may write to the Secretary, Miss Christina J. Braskamp, at 558 S. Hope St., Los Angeles, Calif.

THE B O O K OF R E V E L A T I O N By James H. McConkey Dr. W. H. Griffith Thomas, the noted English Bible teacher, said of this book, “ Of all the books on Bevelation that I have read, this is on the whole the clearest, the most convincing and most satisfying.“ Dr. W. Graham Scroggie said, “Anyone desiring an introduction to this book, at once comprehensive, expository and spiritual, can not do better than study this most useful contribution."
