Dear Cattlemen, Welcome to our 22nd Annual Production sale. We thank you and sincerely appreciate your interest in our program, as we look forward to providing you with top end genetics. It’s a phenomenal time to be in the cattle industry with record prices and record beef demand! It is equally exciting in the animal breeding world with more tools at our disposal than at any time in history. The advancement of genomic technology has allowed us to specifically dial in to unique multiple trait selection like never before. Historically, we haven’t always known with confidence if an animal would possess the most desirable “convenience traits” like foot quality or teat and udders. After close evaluation of our own registered cows, we believe that these new EPD’s are in the realm of accurate. We feel like they have identified the outliers of the bell curve well. The feedback we continually get from our customers is the desire to produce animals that do everything well. Producing animals that legitimately do everything well takes discipline and lots of data. What we find is that no animals are going to be in the Top 1% for everything, but we can find animals that rank in the Top 35% for most traits. We have highlighted every trait in the Top 35% in blue to easily identify each individual bull’s strengths so you can easily identify the animals that will improve your herd.
