Beta Gamma Chapter Celebrates 100 Years at the University of Colorado November 8, 2025, marked an extraordinary milestone for Beta Gamma Chapter at the University of Colorado-Boulder . More than 200 Alpha Phi alumnae returned to their beloved Boulder campus to celebrate Beta Gamma’s 100th anniversary. This monumental event brought together generations of sisters, honoring the chapter’s rich history, reconnecting old friends and forging new bonds. The celebration began at the chapter house, where alumnae enjoyed tours and witnessed the unveiling of a centennial marker. Over the past 100 years, Beta Gamma has called four different addresses home, yet as sisters moved through the familiar rooms, they reflected not only the buildings themselves but on the moments that shaped them. Laughter echoed through the halls as they remembered whispered conversations long after lights out, popcorn shared during study breaks and friendships that blossomed daily. These were the experiences that would shape their lives long after graduation. Regardless of the street number, every woman found the same sense of home, sisterhood and personal growth that has defined Beta Gamma for a century. Attendees then made their way to Folsom Field for the evening program, where Loren Palmer (Beta Gamma-Colorado) welcomed them. Dressed in spirited gameday attire, the crowd formed a sea of black and gold, filling the stadium with unmistakable CU pride. Throughout the dinner program, speakers reflected on Beta Gamma’s extraordinary journey, beginning with its founding in 1924 when young women petitioned to bring Alpha Phi to CU. They recounted how the chapter navigated four different homes over the decades and weathered the challenges that came with the shifting landscape of Greek life in the 1960s, all while remaining grounded in sisterhood and purpose. “What makes Beta Gamma special is not found in an address or a building,” speakers shared at the celebration’s dinner. “It’s found in the remarkable women who have called this chapter home for the past century. Their spirit, diligence and grit carried the chapter

through every era of change.”

International President Kate Boyle Halfon (Eta Delta-CSU East Bay) joined the celebration and spoke about Beta Gamma’s strong influence on the Fraternity. She emphasized the chapter’s enduring role as a model of leadership within Alpha Phi. A past International President, International Executive Board (IEB) members and countless volunteers have come from this special chapter. Also in attendance were Billie Coskey Battiato (Phi-Oklahoma) and Christen Bamford Shelton Flamm (Eta Beta-CSU San Bernardino), both members of the IEB, and Laura Davidson Ellett (Beta Delta- UCLA). Though their Alpha Phi journeys began in other collegiate chapters, these women have contributed to Beta Gamma’s success in significant and lasting ways, offering guidance and support that helped shape its journey. Drawing on her 14 years as chapter advisor, Executive Director Renee Smith Zimmerman Zainer (Beta Epsilon-Arizona) shared reflections for those who have lived the chapter’s history. She
