H ‘ |0W true it is that all the world loves a lover, and as we turn to the consideration of the life o f two whom God has joined together in marriage, we do so with a sense of profound grati tude and joy for all the good things we have found in our life together since our wedding day. Yet at the same time, we write as beginners; we real ize we have very much still to learn ourselves. We take up the story of Jack and Jill at their engagement, ideally this will probably last about %ix months, and obvftnsajv there wiH^be a closer, intimacy betwe^iiyr couplewjfe an unafcj£§tanding has bee®, entered n^o, or an o^cial engagement But we to remind at all the physical approalhes, from kisses or two people in announq selves ing h*ads to “ harmUi love, Site, but the unsatisfying prelude to the full love-makmg which will finaMi^ complete expres sion after marriage. ' We agree with many more experienced Chris tians who have written on this difficult point. We feel it is best and most helpful, when seeking to draw a line on how far enga^ri|MH^s should go in their love-making, to s^^^^^^^^H fy^wh en alone, a couple will enjoy tender gestures this is right and j j^ É i f i| S ^ ^ H ^ ^ m v i s e that they together or go before marriage than know that they jnight be Obviouslyx if disturbed on occasion when alone togther, most ould feel embarrassed; but we feel they do nothing which in these circumstances Vould cause them to feel undue embarrassment. Even in public, some engaged couples occasionally nauseate others by their excessive demonstrations of affection.
