Education Essential: • Degree qualified in relevant subject / relevant formal training, plus experience in a similar or related role(s) • Holds second degree in relevant subject / relevant formal training • Hold Chartership or equivalent in relevant field Experience Essential: • Knowledge and understanding of building service and design • Successfully managing a department and team • Proven organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise diverse workload • Procurement, contract preparation and tendering. • Financial management, budget preparation, management and control. Desirable: • Experience of large complex databases and means of presenting information • Experience of the policy formulation and

• Contract management, service level agreements, use of key performance indicators • Manage own time and set targets and objectives in line with the Imperial College strategy • High level of understanding of engineering and technical principles related to energy efficiency in buildings Desirable: • Building energy management systems, process control systems • Track record of negotiating and working with professional consultants and external contractors. • Energy and environmental legislation and codes of practice. • Programme and project management methodologies and techniques. Skills & Abilities: Essential: • Ability to manage time, prioritise and work to tight deadlines • Able to communicate at all levels, both written and via presentation • Adept at providing direction and overseeing the work of others • Able to work to tight deadlines, managing and prioritising own time effectively • Able to work effectively within a complex organisation • Ability to exercise initiative

• Proven ability to work towards a goal or objective in the face of resistance
