Become a British Citizen Your Citizenship Ceremony
When you have been granted naturalisation, you will be invited to attend a group citizenship ceremony in The Henshall Suite in Crawley. Alternatively, you can choose to have an individual ceremony at a more convenient time (additional fee payable).
What happens at the ceremony? • New citizens will be welcomed by

either the Chairman or Vice Chairman of West Sussex County Council and a representative of the Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex. • The new citizens will then choose to either swear or affirm the oath of Allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and make their pledges. • You will then be presented with your certificate of naturalisation, and can have a commemorative photograph taken of your special day.
