THE ‘LADDER’ FRAMEWORK

GUIDING PROFESSIONAL GROWTH

A defining element of the program’s academic design is the LADDER framework, a structured approach to professional development that guides students from their first year through graduation. LADDER stands for Leadership development, Acquisition of talent, Development of careers, Direct career placement, Early-career start, and Recruitment. LADDER intentionally integrates leadership training, applied learning, and career readiness milestones into the student experience. Rather than treating professional growth as op - tional or extracurricular, the frame- work ensures students build skills, confidence, and industry awareness progressively throughout the pro - gram.

Through LADDER, students engage in experiential learning, profes- sional preparation, mentorship, and reflection aligned to their stage of development. This ap- proach creates clarity for students, consistency across experi - ences, and stronger outcomes at grad- uation. By embedding professional readiness directly into the academic journey, the program ensures students graduate not only with academic knowledge, but with the skills and self-assurance needed to succeed in a demanding, people-driven industry. The program is actively pursuing accreditation through the Accredi- tation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration, further

affirming its commitment to academ - ic quality and continuous improve - ment. Ongoing curriculum review, informed by industry input, ensures course content remains current, rig- orous, and relevant. Through this combination of academ- ic rigor, experiential learning, and structured professional development, the Hospitality Management program prepares students not only to enter the workforce, but to advance quickly and lead effectively.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE & Innovation

DESIGNED FOR A DYNAMIC INDUSTRY

Caroline Kantoris, Class of 2023, HR Office Manager at StimLabs

The Hospitality Management program is built on a strong academic founda- tion designed to prepare students for the complexity and pace of today’s hospitality industry. The curriculum integrates core business disciplines with hospitality-specific coursework, ensuring graduates understand both operational execution and strategic decision-making.

Students complete a comprehensive sequence of courses spanning ac- counting, finance, marketing, oper - ations, and management, alongside specialized hospitality coursework in lodging operations, food and beverage management, event plan- ning, and service leadership. This interdisciplinary approach reflects the reality of hospitality as a business and equips students with a broad, adaptable skill set.

Innovation is embedded throughout the curriculum. Experiential learn- ing components, including applied projects, simulations, and live case studies, place students in real-world scenarios where they must analyze information, make decisions, and lead teams. These experiences reinforce classroom concepts while developing confidence, judgment, and profes - sional fluency.
