The graph below provides a count of full-time, regular classified employees by pay schedule that are on Medicaid as of January 1, 2025. Information from last year’s report is included as well for comparison purposes. According to the Louisiana Department of Health, the decreases from 2024 to 2025 can be attributed to the return to regular Medicaid eligibility policies and procedures from the public health emergency protocols that were in place following the pandemic. The counts for 2025 approximate to 4.8% of employees in the Administrative (AS) pay schedule, 5.2% in the Medical (MS) pay schedule, 5.0% in the Protective Services (PS) pay schedule, 8.1% in the Social Services (SS) pay schedule, 0.9% in the Technical & Scientific (TS) pay schedule, and 6.9% in the Technician & Skilled Trades (WS) pay schedule being on Medicaid.
