SCS is providing the following recommendations in order to maintain market competitiveness for the pay schedules. This year, the MS and SS pay schedules are being recommended for an adjustment. Specifics on recommended pay plan changes will be presented to the SCS Commission at a future pay hearing. For a review of historical structure adjustments and general increases, refer to Appendix B. PAY STRUCTURE RECOMMENDATIONS
Administrative “AS” Pay Schedule SCS is currently working on solutions to improve market competitiveness of jobs in this pay schedule. In addition, the pay structure adjustment that was recommended in last year’s report is planned to be presented to the SCS Commission at the public meeting on February 5, 2025. Accordingly, SCS will continue to monitor this pay schedule for market competitiveness over the next year. Medical “MS” Pay Schedule A small adjustment to this pay schedule of 2.0% is recommended to maintain market competitiveness for 2026. Although, on average, midpoints of this pay schedule are leading the public sector by 6.6%, they are lagging the private sector by -1.6%. A small adjustment of 2% will avoid compression issues and is estimated to have an annualized implementation cost of approximately $71,990.57. Protective Services “PS” Pay Schedule SCS will continue to monitor this pay schedule for market competitiveness over the next year since midpoints of this pay schedule are, on average, leading the public and private sector medians. Social Services “SS” Pay Schedule A small adjustment to this pay schedule of 2.0% is recommended to maintain market competitiveness for 2026. Although, on average, midpoints of this pay schedule are leading the public sector by 2.8%, they are lagging the private sector by -6.2%. A small adjustment of 2% will avoid compression issues and is estimated to have an annualized implementation cost of approximately $92,275.14. Technical & Scientific “TS” Pay Schedule SCS is currently working on solutions to improve market competitiveness of jobs in this pay schedule. Accordingly, SCS will continue to monitor this pay schedule for market competitiveness over the next year. Technician & Skilled Trades “WS” Pay Schedule SCS will continue to monitor this pay schedule for market competitiveness over the next year since midpoints of this pay schedule are, on average, leading the public and private sector medians.
