Workforce Development - Preparing for the future of Health Care
2023 efforts generated some big wins in workforce development. Virginia Garcia offered several career path development opportunities as a way to retain and enhance the needs of our staff and our organization. The payoff? HUGE.
Over the past year we have:
Hired 11 Dental Assistants from VG WFD programs.
Hired 14 Medical Assistants from VG WFD programs.
And we aren’t stopping there. Currently we have:
5 students enrolled in VG WFD programs (3 DA Apprentices and 2 MA Apprentices). 1 of our Allied Health West MA Apprentices just graduated early with one of the highest CCMA scores the program has ever seen.
16 staff members joined the MA & DA programs in March 2024 (16 MA/ 3 DA).
These programs have not only increased patient care access and boosted revenue for the organization by filling critical staffing roles. They have allowed our clinics to see the best staffing numbers since 2019.

64/73 FTE filled for Medical Assistants – best we have seen in 3 years
