The Maria Loredo Workforce Development Fund

Tuition Reimbursement Program

Maria Loredo lived the mission of Virginia Garcia. Starting as a front desk receptionist when there was only one clinic she occupied just about every job role there was and helped to grow this organization clinic by clinic. Maria served as the Chief Operations Officer for more than 20 years and she knew how important this organization was to the community because she was part of it. When she retired after 45 years, the Maria Loredo Workforce Development Fund was created in her honor. As of today, that fund has supported 70 staff members with more than $400,000 in their career advancement. The program is an application-based, targeted reimbursement program. It is designed to support staff who are pursuing education and certificate-level training that could directly benefit our organization. Most courses of study or job-related certification programs will qualify. That includes general college coursework related to getting an AA or Bachelor's degree, and pre- requisite classes being taken in preparation for other programs. Certification programs related to an employee's current job or to a future role within the organization are also very likely to be approved. Examples of Tuition Assistance programs we have supported : Associate degree pursuing dental hygiene.
