2024 - ON THE HORIZON
NURSING The collaboration between Portland Community College, Linfield and Virginia Garcia is a strategic partnership that helps plant seeds for our future nursing workforce. Our first round of nursing students recently completed their first term of nursing school rotations at the Virginia Garcia Beaverton Wellness Center. Three first year students each completed 60 hours of clinical experiences this past fall. The collaboration between with our nursing school partners continues to grow as we enter the new year. Beginning January 8th, we have new rounds of students from the PCC and Linfield nursing programs at the Hillsboro and Cornelius clinics.
DENTAL HYGIENE Virginia Garcia has been collaborating with Portland Community College and Mount Hood Community College providing Dental Hygiene students with clinical rotations in a community health center setting. Starting in winter term 2024, these students will begin clinical rotations at our clinics, providing opportunities to treat our diverse patient populations and learn about patient care in a community health care setting.
