DOORS AND LOCKS
DOORWAYS HAS THE EXPERTISE TO PROVIDE A RANGE OF SOLUTIONS… Ironmongery
D oorways Architectural is a premier architectural solutions provider to the commercial, education, health, housing, retail and leisure sectors of the construction industry. Doorways Architectural ironmongery business has a long and established reputation in the Province. The roots of the business can be traced back to the 1870s and a company called “Joseph Blair” which operated as a hardware merchant out of Church Lane, Belfast. In 2005, the company rebranded as MB Architectural and relocated to Falcon Road, Belfast. Last year, the business merged with Moffett-Thallon to create the new entity of Doorways, a specialist doors and ironmongery division of the MacBlair group. Under this umbrella the Doorways Architectural division incorporates a fully operational access control department; an ASSA lock centre, as well as a full team of architectural ironmongers, schedulers and estimators. Best practice is widely considered
to mean only sourcing door ironmongery that is third party certified. All parts including doors, hinges, closers, locks, intumescent seals, panic hardware, door furniture, hold-open and free- swing devices and signage should all be third party approved to provide an assurance that these products are fit-for-purpose. Doorways can provide tailored solutions for each job, whether it is for an individual home or a major multi-door project. Staff have the experience to offer expert advice to clients while making sure that all certifications are adhered to without compromising on the architectural vision of the project. “It is important for us to be able to match in with the architect’s vision for a building while also considering the practical needs and the relevant regulations that need to be met,” said Doorways Sales Manager, Robert McNeill. “For the contractor, their needs are different from job to job and we work closely with them to find out how best to deliver the products to site. We back this up
with regular site visits and, where necessary, amend schedules to match their requirements. It’s all part of our partnership approach.”
