Hello to All, our Cumberland View Residents, Families and friends, As winter draws to a close and we welcome the warmer days of spring, I’d love to share a look back at the wonderful activities and events that kept us all busy and smiling throughout June, July, and August.
Winter Highlights In June, we celebrated Italian Cultural Day with John Bevilacqua, enjoyed performances by Laurel McKenna, Margaret Dennis, and a heartfelt Vera Lynn tribute from The Golden Girls. Tom Diaco wowed us with his powerful voice, Alex Matthews kept Happy Hour buzzing, and a scenic drive to Frankston and Oliver Hill was a delight. We also welcomed students from St Justin’s Primary for games, stayed active with Eliza from Music to Movement, and capped the month with a special Birthday Afternoon Tea. July was packed with highlights — from Wimbledon Tennis and Pet Therapy with Milo and Gelu to performances by Freddy Gulino, Laurel McKenna, Tom Diaco, and young pianist Jacobs. Christmas in July was a festive standout with Coxy’s entertainment, a delicious lunch, and plenty of singing. We also enjoyed a French luncheon for Bastille Day, Tattoo Day fun, a Teddy Bears Picnic, Chair Tai Chi with Chris, and an elegant High Tea. In August, we marked International Beer Day with global tastings and music from Kathy Lang. Other highlights included a recital by young Aarons, more cuddles from Milo, Happy Hour with Alex Matthews, and exercise with Eliza. Our cultural meal celebrated India’s National Day with staff in traditional dress. The St Justin’s students returned for Bingo, Lorenzo charmed us in concert, and the Lifestyle team spread laughter as “angels” for Be an Angel Day, before Freddy Gulino closed the month on guitar and vocals.
