WHAT IS IP44? IP44 is a rating that tells you how well a product is protected against dust and water. “IP” stands for Ingress Protection, and the two numbers that follow it each have a specific meaning: The first number (4) means the product is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm, like small tools or wires. It’s not fully dust-proof, but it does block most solid particles. The second number (4) means it’s protected against water splashes from any direction. All Roper Rhodes illuminated mirrors and cabinets carry an IP44 rating, making them suitable for Bathroom Zone 2 and areas outside the zones. This gives you excellent flexibility when planning your bathroom layout.
ZONE 1 Roper Rhodes
ZONE 2 Electrical fittings in this zone require a minimum rating of IP44 (splash-proof)
OUTSIDE ZONES Electrical fittings in this zone require a minimum rating of IP20
recommends that products installed in Zone 1 are a minimum of IP65
