Gloucestershire's Apprenticeship Champions 2019

A county rich in talent and business enterprise

Focus on county’s business success

It’s that time when we all take stock of what we have achieved and what we have to look forward to in the New Year. More than 400 business men and women were given a snap shot of this county’s economic health and achievements at Gloucestershire’s Local Enterprise Partnership, GFirst LEP’s, annual review. Some of the figures given out were mind boggling – the LEP is on course to deliver £500 million of investment – not least in the county’s road and transport infrastructure. An area so lacking in the past, but now there is real hope that at last we are going to have a road network which can service both the businesses already here and those we will undoubtedly attract in the coming years. With so much uncertainty at national and international levels, it is good to see that at the grass roots there is so much happening in this county and so much to look forward to in the future. In the pages of Punchline we have tried to reflect the diversity of Gloucestershire’s economy – from an award-winning distillery to a pioneering engineering firm that produces the hydraulic power packs used in all walks of life. We never cease to be amazed at the successful SMEs we discover all over the county quietly working away, but outstanding at what they do. It’s that spirit of enterprise and “can do” attitude that drives the county’s economy. Here at PunchlineGloucester.com we look forward to highlighting that business talent in 2019 l If your company or enterprise is a shining example of business success, we at Punchline want to hear about it.
