Gloucestershire's Apprenticeship Champions 2019

Exciting times ahead for King’sWalk Gloucester

The team at King’s Walk Gloucester are working hard to ensure that the centre remains a key retail destination for customers with a bright outlook in 2019. Following a recent rebrand, King’s Walk has welcomed new retailers including Menkind to strengthen its already strong tenant line-up, along with temporary retailers such as the Calendar Club. Even though footfall figures into shopping centres are struggling in the current climate, the centre still hopes to have attracted over 1 million customers throughout December. Peter White, centre manager for King’s Walk, is looking forward to a very busy 2019 and told Punchline that there are some extremely exciting plans for the future. “We have been working closely with the landlord and, although plans are at an early stage, we expect to see a number of positive changes taking place in the centre in the future,” he said. The team expects the development of the centre to

commence in early 2019, to include improvements to the car park, new public toilet facilities and updated customer wayfinding. The development plans focus on improving the customer journey, creating a positive visitor experience and upgrading the key areas of the centre. Customers can also expect to see new retailers opening in King’s Walk in the future. Although names haven’t been confirmed as yet, it is anticipated that a number of high street brands will look to locate within the centre as part of the development. Peter White said: “We hope to be able to announce all the positive news stories very soon and look forward to seeing the positive impact on footfall into the centre.” What with the recent opening of the new Gloucester Transport Hub, plans to improve King’s Square and recently released images of the proposed King’s Quarter scheme, it is hoped that the King’s Walk development will play a major part in raising the profile of this part of the city l
