A Closer Look at the iTero Intraoral Scanner

Since the first iTero scanner launched in 2007, it has changed the dental landscape for patients and dentists alike. We’ve had our scanner in the office for three years and have been able to record around three data points per patient. If we take out the scanner during your next appointment to take some candid shots of your teeth, don’t get nervous. We don’t think there’s something wrong with your mouth; we’re just making a record so that, if there are any issues, we can spot changes early and get you the right solution faster.

We’ve all had that moment in front of the mirror. You’re brushing or flossing your teeth, when you notice a tooth that just seems a little different . Is it chipped? Wearing down? Crooked? Has it always been like that? When most patients mention this kind of concern while at the dentist’s office, the best their dentist can say is “We’ll keep an eye on it.” But the truth is it’s really hard to gauge how much teeth move based on memory or even with 2D photos. And when you are certain of a change, it’s impossible to determine if it’s a problem. That’s why at Exceptional Smiles at Landerbrook, we have the iTero Intraoral Scanner. Once a year, we use the iTero Scanner to capture 3D images of our patients’ teeth. These scans provide a more complete look at a patient’s mouth than would be possible with photos, X-rays, or traditional molds alone. What’s that Nevada city where all the dentists visit?

Skewers are a Fourth of July favorite, but these are not your classic kebabs. They’re a fresh, light, and fun way to start a barbecue. Oh, and they don’t require any actual cooking.

Ingredients •

Equipment •

1 medium-sized watermelon, cubed 2 cucumbers, cut into 1/4-inch rounds

1 packet of bamboo skewers

1 block feta cheese, cubed 1 bunch fresh mint leaves

FLOSS

Salt, to taste

Directions 1. Assemble skewers by placing one

2. Lightly season with salt and chill in fridge until right before serving.
