FINE NOW, PAIN LATER COMMON SIGNS OF A DELAYED INJURY AFTER AN ACCIDENT
This can be very serious and should prompt an immediate visit to your doctor.
For some car accident victims, the onset of injuries or pain in the days, weeks, or months following an accident can create more uncertainty and concern. This may be more common than you may think. As your body recovers, injuries or pain can become more evident. It’s common to experience any of the following delayed pain symptoms after an accident. Headaches and Neck or Shoulder Pain: This may be a sign that you have experienced a head or neck injury, a concussion, whiplash, and — in some rare cases — a blood clot. While headaches are common, they shouldn’t be ignored. They’re actually powerful signals from your body that something is wrong. Back Pain: When your body experiences an extreme amount of force, like that of a car accident, your spine takes the brunt of it. This can cause disc slippage, vertebrae cracks, bruising, or other spinal issues. Numbness and Tingling: Nerve damage or spinal cord injuries can leave your arms and legs feeling tingly or numb, which can result in a loss of function of the limb that is experiencing the symptoms.

You could simply have a bruise or laceration from the seat belt, or you could have sustained a muscle injury or damage to your organs upon impact. Changes in Mood: While this may not appear with physical symptoms, mood changes could point to a concussion or other brain issues. If left untreated, this could be very dangerous. The most important step to take when you feel pain after a car accident — no matter how long it has been — is to seek professional help . Visit your doctor immediately and include a thorough and detailed description of your pain. Let your doctor know that you were in an accident recently so that those details appear in their report. This could be vital should you choose to file a personal injury claim. After an accident, your focus should be on your healing. Let our team at the Law Offices of William F.
