WELCOME TO BLUEBELL NURSERY

AT LANGLEY SCHOOL, TAVERHAM

We sincerely hope that this guide gives you a flavour of our wonderful nursery provision.

Bluebell Nursery is based on Langley School’s Taverham site, nestled within 100 acres of stunning parkland. As a parent, you naturally want the best care for your child and a nursery that meets your needs and expectations. We strive to do this and so much more, combining all the essential ingredients to create the best possible start in a setting where your child will be happy, safe and nurtured. We promise to provide a supportive environment in which your child will flourish. Our values of kindness, confidence (with humility), curiosity and integrity begin with our very youngest children, giving them a strong start to their educational journey and lifelong learning. This guide is just the beginning, so please do come and visit us to see for yourself what we can offer your family.

OUR BLUEBELL NURSERY IS THE START OF YOUR CHILD’S LANGLEY JOURNEY, BASED AT OUR TAVERHAM SITE.

WOODLAND

We have four rooms in our Bluebell Nursery setting, which is registered with Ofsted. We are proud to say that our nursery facilities were inspected in May 2024 and were rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Your child’s journey can begin here from 6 months through to 4 years, when they are ready to begin their school journey with us. Children progress through the different rooms, starting as a Seedling, growing into an Acorn, followed by an Oak, and finally moving into our Woodland room.

With our very own ambitious curriculum based upon the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, we support all children to progress at a rate that suits their own individual needs. When your child joins us, we will meet with you to discuss their age and stage of development before placing them in either Seedlings, Acorns, Oaks or Woodland class. As your child grows and develops, we monitor their progress carefully before moving them to the next stage of their Nursery journey.

SEEDLINGS 6 MONTHS – 16 MONTHS

ACORNS 16 MONTHS - 24 MONTHS

In our Acorns room, children continue to develop independent life skills and attain key early years goals within a calm, nurturing environment.

Our Seedlings room offers a calm, caring and nurturing environment that is fully set up to help your baby feel settled.

THE SLEEP ROOM

We have a calm and tranquil sleep room that is set up with cots and sleep areas. This separates play and sleep spaces, providing the children with a calm and peaceful environment to nap.

We aim to meet your child’s individual needs; all our babies have planned but flexible activities to stimulate them in a fun environment, working around patterns in line with those at home.

Within this space, we prioritise these key learning domains:

Breastfeeding mothers are welcomed into the setting to feed if it is their wish to do so.

Communication and language

We offer space for children to engage with resources and each other, tuff trays for sensory and messy play, plus a baby gym to help develop their muscles and strength. We work closely with parents to keep you informed about feeding, eating, changing and sleeping. This is supported by Tapestry – an online portal that you can log into securely to see your child’s ‘learning journey.’

OAKS 2 - 3 YEARS

WOODLAND 3 - 4 YEARS

In Oaks, children will explore, discover, learn and develop the skills they need for life. Our focus in Oaks is to continue to support the primary areas of learning whilst preparing your child for their joruney through school. Here, your child will have lots of fun with creative play and explore our woodland area during Outdoor Learning sessions. They will also enjoy story, sensory and music activities. It is a nurturing environment with a little more emphasis on encouraging children to become independent and getting them ready for the move up to our Woodland class. “LEADERS DEMONSTRATE A PASSIONATE COMMITMENT TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE QUALITY OF CARE FOR CHILDREN.” OFSTED INSPECTION REPORT, 2024

Our Woodland facility is the next stage of your child’s exciting journey. Once your child has blossomed in their development journey, are toilet trained and we feel they are ready, they will begin transition sessions to our Woodland space. The focus in this classroom is to continue to support and nurture your child, with a little more emphasis on encouraging them to become independent. Woodland Nursery houses our very own ‘Bluebell Town’; a classroom with highly developed technology and a free flow outside exploration area for the children to access throughout the day.
