Abigail Miller
This essay is admittedly why Matthew and I agreed that we would put together this
edition. This module was one of the most enlightening I have been enrolled on at
Swansea and I found the topic immensely inspiring. As a Bathonian myself, I was
able to really delve into the grey literature involved in the management of heritage in
the City of Bath. It was a pleasure to be able to contact local tour guides and
businesses during my research and learn more about my home town in the process.
What was most significant to me in the process of this essay, however, was what I
have learnt about heritage interpretation and how it functions in our society on a
logistical level. What I learnt from this module has impacted the choices I made for
my third-year modules and undoubtedly has made me consider what I want out of
my future career. Moreover, it is important to me that I get to showcase the amazing
teaching of Dr Orange through this essay. The aim of this edition has been first and
foremost to celebrate the work of faculty and students alike and I hope that our
readers will feel we have done that justice.
