Covid-19 Impact on Season Preparedness Possible Budget/Activities/Staff Adjustments

Background: The potential is real that the Covid pandemic will impact Resort operations, both financially and operationally regarding activities. As I’ve discussed with staff and the Board, it would seem that consideration needs to be given as to how those challenges will be met. More specific discussion will take place once staffing returns on the first of September. While one doesn’t know what limitations will still be in effect, below are several thoughts to stimulate discussion: Income Resort Fee By all accounts, Resort Fee Income, which generates $300,000 year, will not be negatively impacted. It may be, with the increased popularity of RVing as indicated by sales, that more will be collected. Consideration may be given to assist the Canadian Owners marketing/advertising so that they can rent the property in case they don’t/can’t travel to the Resort Delinquencies It would also appear that delinquencies will not increase. Since March, when the shutdown occurred, an increase has not been in the five months past. Lifestyle/Bar Certainly, gatherings for social events will more than likely be affected. Bar gatherings and dances will be non-existent or severely limited. Shows, such as comedy nights might be held only outside yet be reduced in size of total attendees, which will reduce income, even with the same expense of booking entertainment. Expense Staffing Reduced staff, including Lifestyle/Golf/Security to meet reduced income/need must be considered. General Amenity Use Reservation basis for all amenities, depending on load, may need to be in place, such as several Resort- style communities have implemented. That would include courts and pools. Bottom line is that we won’t know until we know, but we flexibility and readiness is paramount. Motion(s) for Consideration: N/A Designated Funding: N/A
