THE KING’S BUSINESS

enter as many fields for Jesus Christ and the clear, straight gospel o f the grace of God as possible, and pull many from the wreck ere the crash comes to the old world which is so fast ripening for the righteous judgment which a righteous God must needs execute. Evil men and seducers are waxing worse, and many o f the boys who profess to honor the Lord, fall before the persecution. Men who could easily face the cannon’s mouth, or a hold-up gang, drop before the jeer and jest o f ungodly men. ' God is calling louder than ever to the hearts of His own for a bold, aggres sive, frank and definite surrender of lives. Some o f our boys are looking to the great, T AST month brought the usual hard ■“ times, and also many good, blessed times in approval o f our labor here in this great field. While apparently men wax worse and worse as the end o f the age approaches, and Satan’s opposition-is stronger, causing more hard cafees to be met with than ever before,' yet on the other hand the answers to prayer which God gives us, and the souls ‘won for Christ, give us great joy. Often the words .of* the well known hymn bring great joy and inspiration, in anticipation of the coming o f the Christ o f God: “Why should I anxious be? W e find broken down altars,Lthe love o f many waxing cold. One man handed me a letter from Eng land, just received, from, which read: “ I am praying the Lord to send some Chris tian worker to you who may be used of God in leading you back, dear John, to the Lord Jesus,.who ever abideth faithful, that His joy and strength may be yours ere the night close in and the door is forever shut.” Surely “dear John” must be restored to the joy o f God's salvation, for He is faithful who has promised. o f a friend in Massachusetts to send the money which would make it possible to have this helper. Looking over the report in T he K ing ’ s B usiness a second time, the .donor saw the request for prayer and ^ent the money, which came as a direct answer to prayer. W e rejoice in the help the new worker is able to give. The first time he came, a wireless operator on a United States naval vessel was won to the Lord, and in the meeting that night gave his testimony. The men gave splendid attention, and were glad of the visit we had with them, A passenger vessel was boarded twenty; five minutes before the time o f departure, and after leaving tracts in the cabins, and praying that God would direct him to the- right person (as the time was short), the worker found a passenger in the steerage quarters who at once showed interest in the leaflets given him. Turning to the worker and thanking him for the literature, he said: “ This is the first time I have had to travel steerage. Mother is sick and telegraphed -for me, and so I had to take what accommodations were left at this late hour.” He confessed 'that he had been
