Sowing the Seed in the Land ¡of Our Lord

Mr. Vartan Atchinak, Director of The Bible Lands Gospel Mission, is here seen as he travels on horseback from vil lage to village, city to c i t y , visiting s hops , houses, prisons, preach ing the Gospel and dis tributing G o d ’ s H o l y Word. Many a pathetic story could be told as an outcome of these visits. It is sufficient here to say that God’s W o r d has proved i t s p o w e r to speak to the hearts of even those who sit in darkness and in the sha dow of death.

and other heathen cults; ten million Greek and Roman Catholics and other Eastern Churches. A motor car would greatly facilitate the work on the field, accomplishing much saving in time and expense of travel. Pray that this need may soon be met, as well as the balance necessary ($700.00) to pay for the purchase of a printing press with which to publish Gospels and Gos pel tracts in Arabic, Armenian, Greek and modern Hebrew. There is no country where the opportunities are so un usual, and the results so important in their effects as in the Bible Lands. No country holds such a strategic position, and no country will mean more for the Kingdom of God than these very lands where the Lord poured out His life blood for the salvation of the world, and where He will set up His Throne to speak peace to the ends of the earth, and reign righteously. Mr. and Mrs. Atchinak, who have been in the United States on deputation work for some time, are now agpin turning their faces to their own land. En route from the Pacific Coast to the Eastern States, they were given an op portunity to present their work in a number of cities with great blessing and acceptance. A recent issue of the maga zine of the Denver Bible Institute, has this to say of them: "We at Denver Bible institute were greatly blessed and strengthened by the presence and testimony of Brother and Sister Vartan Atchinak, directors of the Bible Lands Gospel Mission, and founders of the Lebanon High School and Bible Institute, ML Lebanon, Syria.. "We were immediately won 'by their zeal and love for the Lbrd, which were manifest in deeds and words. In our personal contact with them as visitors their presence was a delight. The spiritual and devotional side of their public testimony brought blessing to all who heard them, while the information concerning God’s work in the Holy Land that was brought to us was of the deepest interest to every one. "The Lord is using Brother and Sister Atchinak in a great work, and they are worthy of every Christian’s prayers and support.’* Contributions for the Bible Lands Gospel Mission may be sent to 113 Fulton Street, New Tork City, N.
